The Last Of Us is definitely one of my favorite games but I haven't bought this dlc yet. Should I get it or should I pass on this dlc. Is the backstory worth it?

The backstory is amazing and worth it, depends on price though, i'd wait for price drop but thats up to you, i bought it yesterday

Ha! I disagree. The last of us is overhyped. It doesnt even have a last boss. Its not a 10 out of 10 game at all. Its repetitive, the story is bloated with filler. Good game? Yes. Uncharted 3, is a much better achievement though.

Nah, the gameplay is superior in The Last of Us.  I wouldn't call either game repetitive.  Which has a 'better' story is preference tho.  Not sure why you think a boss is a requirement in a game like that.

The final boss is the climax of a game. How can you not think that is relevant? The gameplay has more complexities but the levels on The last of Us are very horizontal and uneventful. It plays exactly like a gears of war game with some stealth segments. You fight more humans than infected during the game, so it feels more like a 3rd person shooter than a survival horror as it was touted.

The story is not as preference as you might seem. I believe its the type that appeals to "The walking dead" fans. It seems theres quite a fandom for that in the US, but cmon theres 2 "chapters" during the first season that are complete filler. All they do is repeat the same emotions we found early in the game when a big event happens that changes the journey (i believe you know what i mean). The brothers arc for example, complete filler. What it showed was exactly like that said event. There were no new emotions. The story only opens up again on the 2nd season because the first one was bloated with filler (plus the crazy guy in town that had a history with Joel that is never mentioned). Its not great storytelling.

I've moved on from this game. They took to long to come out with the DLC.

Nah, it's well worth going back to. Now I feel like replaying the whole game again. It still looks surprisingly good too after playing on ps4. So many lovely details in the levels. Very immersive dlc. Well worth $15, I'm going to replay it tonight.

Imo a final boss wouldn't have really fit this game.  I'm glad they didn't force one in, like some games do.

Both The Last of Us and Uncharted are very linear games.  TLOU distances itself from other linear games with its memorable set pieces which often have multiple ways of approaching them.

I agree with you about fighting too many humans and not enough infected.  More infected would have been preferred in my case.  However, I suspect this was done intentionally.  A theme throughout the game is that humans are more dangerous than infected.

The story appeals to Walking Dead fans...???  Wow, I'm kind of offended by that lol.  The Walking Dead has some of the worst writing of any show on today, the only reason people watch it is because of the premise.  On the other hand, TLOU has one of the best stories of last generation.  It has more to do with Ellie/Joel and their experiences together than simply being about a zombie outbreak.  If you don't like the story good for you, you're in the minority, and theres nothing wrong with that.

Wouldnt fit? It was right there! They just chose to make it a cheap cut scene instead of having a fight (probably due to time constraints). Bosses are the high points of games. The one on the winter season was a great moment. do you think that would've had the same impact without that fight and instead a cut-scene? Now you're gonna tell me they dont fit the game?

I'm not talking about the writing, i'm talking about the events. And that means events that no one cares about. Stories of nobodies (the filler ones). Even the story of Joel and Elly is quite uneventful until the end and keeps getting dragged along throught the game with minimal advance (it actually reminds me of Tales of Graces that does the same).

I really reject beeing pinned with the minority for thinking the story is not amazing. It completely doesnt compare to something like a Mass Effect or even to something of a smaller scale like Legacy of Kain. Heck, even Uncharted 3 is more eventful. The gameplay is the only thing that is done right in the game. It toally doesnt deserve any of the 10 out of 10 grades. I know its difficult to see now due to social pressure, but with time it will sink in. There is much that can be improved in a sequal. Somehow i doubt it will get 10 of 10's then though. Its just how the system works.

I will get the GOTY version again.

I respectfully disagree with all of that. Mass effect and Uncharted 3 did not make me care for the characters at all. It is the 'uneventful' scenes that explores the connection between the characters and give it substance. Maybe with time you will see what makes tlou's writing so good.

Anyway I guess Left behind is not for you in that case. It's nothing more then remembering a day at the mall while looking for a med pack if you go by events.

All i saw was a guy beeing a dick through half the game and suddenly having a change of heart. Great writing hooptydo. I prefer logic. But i dont mean to demeanor your opinion, i respectufully disagree. :)
