Wii and DS gave an 'artificial' boost tho, it could never be sustained. And something can't keep growing and growing infinitely. Even smartphones will slow down one day!

I'm not in gaf as well but you can search there. But it isn't him against vgc is npd numbers provide by him vs vgc numbers (which even ioi - the owner - would agree is more precise than his). But if it makes you fell happier pretend he changed ps4 and wiiu names on the report by accident.

Agreed but I didn't expect it to drop so drastically, at least thats the way its looking.
What I worry about is companies going bust and having another video game crash, although thats very drastic and unlikely.
It feels like in a few more years we're only gonna have the really big companies then indies left and even those big companies could struggle. Take Ubisoft, if Watch Dogs bombs, Just Dance does a Guitar Hero (its only a matter of time) and people get series fatigue over Assassin's Creed all in quick succession it would hit them really hard.
These big publishers are becoming to reliant on certain franchises. I think Activision are in for a shock with CoD this year, I think thats kinda had its day now.

Well if it keeps up the current pace, Patchers estimation just might be accurate. We'll have to see if games like MK8 and SSB are still system sellers. I believe it's plausible that if MK8 is bundled for the holiday season (with a price drop to $249.99 )that the Wii U could sell around 7 million consoles this year despite it's current decrease YoY. Unfortunatelty, we really won't know what state it is in until MK8 releases and whether or not the game can still carry the same sort of appeal as last gen. Same thing goes for SSBU.

Im talking about a public traded company that just deals soley in video games. Come on catch up already. Playstation and Xbox do not have to deal with shareholers like Nintendo does. Sony and Microsoft do. Meaning Sony....and.....Microsoft....have .....other.....products..... not ......just.....gaming......see i think i should just talk slow for you so you an understand.
