Why are the Nintendo guys attacking and trying to discredit the OP while he's using official numbers? The topic itself should be discussed, not Seece.

Sod the WiiU numbers, I'm more concerned how far out VGC is.

Makes coming here for figures more and more pointless and isn't that the whole point for a charts based website?

Well putting xbone doom threads are riskier than wiiu ones. I just hope you aren't implying that seece have fanboyish intentions because even though he is a strong supporter (like the shipped x360 > ps3) he is no apologist.


Nope, I am not calling him a fanboy, just that he is the one to always post negative about WiiU, especially if it is overtracked, yet doesn't do it for the other consoles(well he also does it for 3DS ).

 

He posted several negative threads about ps3 in the past. As I said he is a xbox supporter, but a resonable one.

Love how people treat NPD like they are actually 100% accurate.

They are prediction based on sample of the sales numbers. Just like VGC. Except NPD's sample is bigger. It doesnt mean its 100% right though. It doesnt mean VGC is 100% wrong either. They are estimates.
Only the publishers will be able to tell you how much they shipped to retailers. Thats the maximum ammount that eventually gets sold.

Seece is beeing attacked cause he is treating the numbers as 100% correct, when he has no basis to make that assumption. The differences are small and difficult to accept as complete thruth... therefore, its difficult not to conclude that what he wants is to speak about doom... for the milionth time. AKA, he got some ammo and now is looking at shooting some more. People will naturally feel offended.

Also, logically, given the software that came out compared to last year, its difficult to believe that the Wii U is selling worse. Mario 3D came out to great reviews and DKC is upcoming. Both, high selling franchises.

That doesn't discuss the matter at hand, the OP figures are wrong, and you can't have a decent dicussion there anyway without people throwing insults.

They don´t seem wrong when compared with the official charts.

I'm so glad I chose the PS4 for my next-gen console of choice, it's a big time winner.

Also, can someone, who isn't a fanboy, please explain to me (and anyone else who lacks sales knowledge) what the Wii U is currently trending towards for total global sales in 2014?

Is it on track for 3 million or less as Pachter predicted or more?

WHY are Nintendo fans so defensive? I have a Wii U & a 3DS, but I don't feel like denying the reality of the current situation just because I love Nintendo games.

Seece, a very reasonable and level-headed person, posts the OFFICIAL INDUSTRY NUMBERS, and you people FLIP!

He's NOT being mean-spirited or 'attacking Nintendo.' You people need to get it into your heads.

Just because Nintendo is officially doing terrible at console sales, console game release schedule, and profit does not mean that acknowleding these facts is 'hate.'

I would argue that IGNORING these facts and INSULTING people who acknowledge them is something closer to hate than the things you are attacking.

This is a CAPITALIST situation: you are defending Nintendo's business misteps as though they are a THEOCRATIC DICTATOR that must be defended at all costs.

PARTICULARLY on a business-oriented site, your perspective is BIZARRE!

Nah im not a Nintendo fan (GC was the only Nintendo home console i ever got). I like every company except Microsoft cause of how unsatisfied i was with the 360 (and EA). I am analysing completely rationally, and what i see is a bunch of hounds trying to pounce on the Wii U.  That is the reality of the situation.
