That's a pretty good rig you got there ...

So what exaclty are you trying to pull here in this thread anyway ?

Why exactly are you downplaying the difference between the PS4/X1 and WII U when they have an even bigger gap than your PC compared to the next gen HD twins ?

Both X and Bayonetta 2 don't even compare to ANY of the next gen HD twins.

I answered that right after I told you to watch my video for my specs, lol

Though, you made my point with that last line.  I never said the PS4/XBox1 aren't more powerful, but looking at Bayonetta 2 and 'X' makes the idea that the game would look and be SO much better on the PS4/XBox1 clearly a fanboy perspective.

My point of this thread was to see how many other people agree that the Wii U is no slouch, and that the slamming of the Wii U as "underpowered" just needs to stop.  Is the Wii U less powerful?  Sure.  Is it underpowered?  No.

The gap between Wii U and PS3 is smaller than Wii and PS2. No?

Much smaller, but that doesn't really matter. The PS2 was much weaker than the XBOX and GameCube. It was a weak system.

That's because PS2 is the older system. But nevermind that, this gap is arguably smaller than the one between Wii and Gamecube as well. Which shows that Wii U is every bit as "underpowered" as Wii was. Except the higher price and earlier release this time.

Wrong.

Wii and PS3/360 were separated by two fundamental divides; SD vs HD, and fixed function vs programmable shaders. There are no such fundamental divides this time around.

You do realize that most of the PS360 games were sub hd right ?

Having programmable shaders maybe a big jump but what use is it when there is a lack of power to put out some complex shading and some nice physics at an acceptable framerate ?

I take it you didn't see my episode about the system comparison, lol... I'm a PC gamer, so the PS4 does nothing but make me laugh when it comes to straight up raw power

As a man who grew up on Nintendo, though, I really do hate watching the media and "gamers" try so hard to slam Nintendo and the Wii U, when they stand for what is probably the only good things left in the gaming industry: gameplay, creativity, fun, local multiplayer, and of course, free online...

Heres the thing, they deserve much of the shit they take.  Sony took lots of crap last gen and it forced then to get their shit togehter and now they just set sales records.  Why cant ninty learn from their fucks ups like sony did.  But ninty seems all to happy to plod along to obscurity in the footsteps of sega.

Nintendo recieved crap even last gen.  Does the word "fad" not ring a bell.

Even when losing and losing bad Sony still was very smug about it.

And I don't think Nintendo fans are happy to plod along into obscurity like Sega, because they know that Nintenod is a well run company and that will never happen.  There could be a video game crash and Nintendo would come out the best out of the three.  Just look at the past consoles and see how often Nintendo is behind and yet their financials are always pretty secure.  They also are the most self-reliant company.  If EA or Square-Enix or Capcom or whatever go bankrupt.  Tell me how much that would affect Nintendo?  Whatever you say, it will be infinitely more influential to Sony or Microsofts GAMING division.

Yes and it was.  And they learned from their fuck up they learned to stfu this gen and let their competition talk all the bs.

How well run are they when their console is a flop, they are losing money on its hardware and they had to slash their projections from 9m to 2.8 ???

I doubt their bankruptcy would hurt anyone as their best assets and personal would be bought out by others.  Ea not holding sport exclusivity would be awesome.

When you seriously think about it COULD possibly look much better on those systems. Having 8GB of ram sure as hell can give both of those games some nice seemless draw distance. They could also AMP up the texture resolution and also have more texture maps such as the specular and displacement due to both of the next gen HD twins featuring much better and more TMUs and tessellation engines. Bayonetta could also seriously use some better compute shaders to show off better destructability.

"Underpowered" is a relative term.

There were still a lot that were 720p, and those that weren't were still well above 480p.

And Bayonetta 2  seems to have some pretty nice shading and physics while running at 60fps.

And as a PC gamer, I can appreciate those details, but those are exactly that: details.

The Wii U has the power to render a game world in which the only real advantage the PS4/XBox1 has is in the details.  That is a pretty good summary of everything I've ever said.  This is why seeing these games makes me laugh at people calling the Wii U underpowered.

If my show continues and grows (and it may not, it may end up being something I'll have to call it quits on if the views and subscribers don't roll in on a growing scale), I had every intention of playing this perspective.  I had planned to show off Bayonetta 2 and 'X' to people, but make sure the console was hidden, and ask them what system they think the game is on.  I know that this episode would have created a flurry of responses, but show the reality of media and biased perception against reality.

I don't know what you call "nice" per se and it doesn't look bad I think but it pales in comparison to the new HD twins. Most of the new PS4/X1 games are using tessellation and compute shaders. Alot of the WII U games lack displacement mapping and that causes soome fairly low poly models all around the games. The new PS4 and X1 games also have tons of lighting to it too along with ambient occlusion to boot.

Bayonetta's physics is quite a bit underwhelming as I was expecting something on the lines of BF4's levelution or Tom clancy's the division bullet penetration. Bayonetta's 2 destructability looks more like an animation than an implementation of destructible geometry.

I get your point. Compared to wii u's competitors, Nitty's system is underpowered. No way to spin that.

I'm a PC gamer with a highend PC and for the price, the PS4 is very capable and impressive.

Current Platforms: HighendPC[rip]/PS4/PS3[rip]/Vita[rip]

X, a game that comes out next year, looks a full gen behind infamous, a game that releases next month.

...by the time X comes out the good looking next-gen games will start rolling out.   it's going to be brutal...

I agree a bit but you are about to get a lot of hate so cover your ears!! Or in this case, never come back to this thread

And people will always think the wiiU is underpowered reguardless

What the, how did you respond so fast!?

Does the post show up before the poll is finished!?!? o_O

Yes it does.
