So you get a PS4/Xbone/WiiU whatever and you can't buy any physical games for it, everythings digital. The console comes with a monthly fee of let's say $5 - $10 or $60 to $120 a year. You have a list of every game that can be on the video game console and you can play anyone you want, but as soon as you stop paying and your service is up you can't play any games you downloaded until you pay for another month. So you never actually own it, it's just another form of renting. Kind of like netflix, you can get all the shows and movies for a small monthly fee.

So would you consider doing this? and why.

Yes, but that is not happening.

$120/year for all games access is equal to two new games a year.

That is not acceptable to the publishers or console makers.

That low of a price is only possible for old games like VC or the Playstation Now stuff.

Sounds like a bad future if this sorta thing ever gets implemented... I hate being tied down to something in order to play games... I just want to enjoy the experince when ever i want without paying a monthly fee for it

No, I like collecting video games and`being able to play old titles when I want. But I'm sure others will see value in subscribing to services like that.

I'd consider it if you had access to all games and unlimited number of games / hours to play, but like Superchunk said there's no way that service would be $120 or less a year. Hell, it'd be closer to that a MONTH.

Just look at how much the average person's monthly cable and cell phone bills are... people spend thousands on these every year.

Well, if I would actually 'get' a copy of the game (installed on my hard drive) then yeah. Why not? Seems like a good deal.

BUT if I have to pay a monthly fee to play it for a month only, then I say F U, never ever. Just thinking about that very same game not being available ten years later or so pisses me off.

Also, I like to put a box on my shelf. Looking nice, having some nice memories, that's the way I like it.
