Y'know, I think you may be onto something here. Of all the crazy predictions, I think this one may be the most likely. Diddy was rubbish in Brawl, but is kind of needed for DK representation, so adding Dixie as a tag partner makes a lot of sense to me.

Diddy Kong is actually top tier. He was considered 2nd best for a while. He now stands as the 4th best in the current tournament metagame.

I am excited, as I own a Wii U. However, the unrealistic and prophetic tone of the predictions is making me think that people have not learned from the promises that post 09 Nintendo has been making and not fulfilling.

I'll be in the pessimistic mood until Nintendo shows me the exact contrary. I wish it was this time. I want to see all the promises made on the quarterly report to start taking place. For the time being, they are just that, promises and no more.
