The biggest surpise to me is how steady Wii U sales are compared to previous week, even though there is a software drought. Does this point to a potential, and quite massive, resurgence of Wii U sales once Nintendo has solved the software issues? Hard to tell... but to me we should have seen a dramatic drop in Wii U sales this week because of the software drought. My only conclusion is that Nintendo's casual strategy for Japan is slowly kicking in with the likes of Wii Party U and Wii Fit U (and in some respect even games such as New Super Mario Bros U and Super Mario 3D World). It's both impressive and tragic at the same time that most of the software driving Wii U sales in Japan are atleast 3 months old. However this suggests the system actually has potential if and when Nintendo manages to release more games.
