Forums - Sony - How to put Sony back in the black following 1.1 billion dollar loss

Sony is already doing what the OP is suggesting though. Sony is currently making mobile games for Android and IOS and coming out with PS Now, which will allow non-PlayStation owners to play exclusives (even on PC). Also, like someone else pointed out- the gaming division isn't why Sony is struggling, so your whole premise is flawed.

Also I see what you're trying to do in the OP, but you're not just paying $400 for exclusives-- you're also paying it for the plethora of third party games you won't find on Nintendo consoles or even PC (in some cases).

Sony should get out of the hardware business because the Vita is a horrendous flop and the PS4 alone can't sustain the company.

Sony should go 3rd party with its games and release all of it's games multiplatform (Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, PC).

I mean, I'd love to play Uncharted, Infamous, and Little Big Planet, but I'm not going to pay $400 + plus online fees just to play those games.I'm pretty certain the whole rest of the world agrees with me. Even Michael Pachter said so.

They should also put PS1/PS2/PSP/PS Vita games on smartphones and tablets via Google Play, Amazon, and iOS App Store.

Nice try, but no.

Want to play playstation exclusives? Buy a playstation system.

They've already unburdened themselves of their unprofitable PC division and got rid of most their tv division. So I think we'll be seeing profits soon.

Oh wow...

10/10 thread.

Or they could kill the Vita, and sell everything except Playstation and then become a gaming only company.

But those are the only unprofitable divisions? wtf?

And then invest heavily in tube TVs, maybe they'll become popular again.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Also-- Sony isn't a gaming company. Most of their revenue doesn't come from SCE; the fact that your only proposed method of getting them in the black involves PlayStation is naive. What about their movie studios, Sony Music, the T.V. division, the T.V. making division, headphones, chemicals, the medical equipment side of the company, etc.

Maybe I took this thread too seriously. :/

so two things one the 1.1 Billion dollar loss is PROJECTED

  • pro·ject·ed
  • [ prə jéktəd ]
  1. estimated: estimated or planned, especially using available information
since you dont seem to know what Projected means,  the second thing is why in the hell would a company stop doing something thats making them money.  the games divsion just posted profits.
they just dumped thier pc division which was a loss leader, they are moving thier tv divison to to a subsidiary and going to have it focus on high end to restore the Sony name. and thier music and movie divison well im not sure how they perform but sony has the rights to alot of big name movies, they just need to stop making shitty ones.
