I understand what the OP is saying here, and I agree with him. I don't really like FPS on consoles either and Titanfall is not a game that has caught any attention from me at all. I prefer FPS that are like CS, and they simply don't work on consoles.

And I more or less hope for it to fail, as I do with CoD year after year, without any luck haha. I just think there are more than enough FPS out there, and I more enjoy games(if console FPS) like Metro 2033 and Bioshock. But still, I played them on PC.

Also I really hate when one console pays for the right to time-exclusive one game. I feel that it more or less ruins the whole franchise. If now Titanfall is released on X1, but Titanfall 2, 3, 4 are released on PS4 as well, but we might never see Titanfall 1 on PS4. I hate this idea. I would rather see it go fully exclusive than this. But yes, I will never buy this anyway.

What if this really became a huge success, and Sony buys the whole franchise or the rights for T2, so Titanfall 2 is only released on PS4 and perhaps PC and PS3. And what would X1 users do then, be forced to buy a PS4? This is just messed up.

Thank god that this more or less only applies for FPS.

And in general I hate it when companies buys exclusivity of a game, I rather see them buy/pick-up studios and make something. Or start a very close co-operation with that studio and support them like hell.

I really had a good laugh when the PS3 time-exclusive(or whatever it was) Haze failed so hard. So if Titanfall fails, I won't be crying any rivers, that's for sure.

TornadoCreator, I feel the same way as you do. I don't see why people are hyping the game to very high levels. I'm not much of a shooter lover myself, but I do play them. The only shooter that really hooked me was Counter-Strike, and that was on PC. I own CS:Go and play it every once in a while.

I played the first Modern Warfare on PS3. I bought it new because of the hype in 2007 and while the Nuke killing your playable Marine was a nice touch, everything else didn't really hook me. I got to level 55 on the multi-player over a course of 5 years, and If this game was made by the same guys that are making Titanfall; the hype is not justified for me.

If it ends up being a game Xbox/PC gamers love, that nice, but personally I'm looking at Destiny and the Devision as better prospects for a shooter I can occasionally jump into. I don't think I might be able to do that to Destiny though because it looks to be shaping to be like an MMO FPS with level grinding and loot generation.

I suppose a lot of game review sites/magazines all said the same seemingly rehearsed line.... First game that felt truly next gen!

I think the hype comes from:

(1) a game coming from the creators of COD4 (arguably one of the most significant games of last gen)

(2) it being exclusive to the xbox one (or more importantly it not being on any playstation system)

(3) people genuinely being impressed by the gameplay - presumably because of the mechs and the parkour elements? Although I'm not too sure and frankly don't care.

Those may as well be considered awards in nothingness. There's nothing concrete being evaulated or awarded just perceptions and beliefs about the game.

The game industry is hyping it to holy hell for sales, as long as it is percieved to be "OMGNEXTGEN" "BESTHINGOFALLTIME" "REVOLUTION" it will sell, regardless of it's actually inate quality or innovation. We're in an industry where you don't even need to have played the game itself to already label it one of the greatest/important of the gen.

Oh boy... I love giving people responses that require little logic. Titanfall is going to be released much sooner and has a beta coming in about a week.

Furthermore, many of the Titanfall threads are posted by Sony fans. People make threads to question its exclusivity, people are debating if they should get a Xbox console to play it, people keep asking why there is hype, I even recall a thread claiming MS is hiding the 360 port because its so similar to the X1 port. It seems like much of the discussion is being created by people that don't plan on playing it.

When Destiny gets closer to launch I anticipate atleast a 100+ threads focusing on how superior the PS4 version is to the X1. It'll be Tomb Raider all over again.

You should make a thread telling us every game that doesn't interest you... just so interesting.
