The first is good.

But...but...They said me it was sonygaf :(

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

The war changed

I poked that "gaf" place with a stick before and never looked back.
Anyway, Kojima has issues... and it started a long time ago.

Only slightly? The way some people talk about the "gap", I was expecting the difference to be bigger than Kelly Price before her diet.

This is a last gen port. We'll see the gap with exclusives and current gen only multiplats. we're already seeing it with 60fps vs 30fps or 1080pvs720p on ports.

Yeah, we're not gonna see a Wii-Xbox360 gap or nothing crazy but we'll see something

Actually average 51 FPS uncapped vs 30 FPS capped, since you're referring to Tomb Raider.

And only one game has a 1080P/720P split, Ghosts. All of the rest are either less difference (like 900 vs 1080) or none.

There's also nothing to support the common idea "the gap wll grow" It might just as well shrink. In fact it's commonly said PS4 is easier to program for than X1, which directly suggests the gap will shrink (programmers will tap out the easy system, faster).

As for exclusives, if the best looking PS4 exclusive is said to be Shadowfall, I dont think XB1 has much to worry about, as that game isn't particularly impressive imo. It looks good, but not that much better than X1 exclusives or even last gen really.

No. KZSF blow everything no on PC last gen out of the water. Have you played it? try harder next time

Well I do have killzone: sf, and, while it looks good, it doesn't blow anything "out of the water". I just finished tomb raider on the 360, and I was impressed by that games graphics. What I'm getting at is, the ps3/x360 best graphics make the ps2/Xbox look like crap by comparison. The ps4/x1 best graphics, at this point in time, do not make the ps360 graphics look like crap, they don't even make them look kind of bad. I remember thinking, while playing that amazing game, that the old gen still had something left in it, and shouldn't have been replaced yet, because anything being done on the ps4/x1 could be done on the ps360. So no, the graphics in any of the next gen don't blow everything out of the water, not by a long shot, not yet....

I believe the best looking game from last gen was the last of us and while at the time was amazing looking it just dosent hold a candle to KZSF. the art is opinion based i give you that but from a technical stand point KZSF wouldnt run on a 360 ps3 and wii combined so i guess we just have to agree to disagree

Look at what it's pushin on old hardware! Technically, not art, it looks phenomenal. The areas are large, the foliage and detail is pretty amazing. And, look at the definitive edition. It's a game that is better than the ps360 versions, but not leagues above. The ps360 run at 720p, and pretty detailed to boot. The ps4 version is 1080p, with a few extra effects, and higher res textures, and jumps around from 30-55 fps... Pushing an old game like that should've easily been able to do all of the above at a solid 60 fps.... I know some is programmers, but, I also think it has a lot to do with the fact that this generation is the smallest jump from one to the other, ever. I'm not disappointed with my ps4, I'm disappointed in the entire generational jump. Sony and ms say their consoles are a 16x power increase, I say not even close. The ps360 were something like 300gflops, 16x that is 4.8tflops.... That would have been a jump, not the theoretical 1.8 of ps4, and certainly not the 1.3 of x1. Sigh..... Sorry man, I didn't mean to go on like this, maybe I'm just expecting too much these days....

I have to disagree with you again the diff in TRDE on PS4 and TR on PS3 are extreamly noticable especially in motion FYI i have platinumed TRDE and my buddy has TR so i have recently compared them myself in person.

Doesn't change the fact it's the exact same game tho, and if you put them side by side you would have a problem knowing they are the same game. It doesn't look 16x better. None of the next gen games do. We've either reached the point of diminished returns(I doubt it) or these next gen consoles just aren't really all that powerdul, especially considering the old gen is over 8 years old. This will be a short generation, I think. When gears of war or uncharted 2 came out, we were seeing something new graphically. Hell, even cameo looked awesome, but these ps4/x1 games look like the same old sh.., just higher res. like I said, maybe I'm just expecting too much, but I think we all should be. People are slamming ms for making the x1 weaker than ps4, I say we should be slamming both, because neither one is what they should have been. To me, they're both kinda weak. I have a ps4, so I feel like I have a right to my opinion. That's all.

side by side compersions.

That looks like a bullshot... Is it really a true side by side? I find it hard to believe that they literally got the exact same frame in both versions at the exact angle etc.... Looks like one of those "this is what the difference may look like" smudged shots. I don't buy it.

The jump from 6th gen to 7th gen was impressive largely because of the jumps in resolution from SD 480p or 480i or even less in some cases to mainly 720p.

The jump was probably quite a bit less impressive to PC gamers of 2005/2006 since VGA/480p resolution gaming hadn't been the standard for PCs since the 90s.

Yes, there were a lot of new lighting effects, physics, particle effects, higher poly counts, better and more shaders and texture maps, but we're seeing the same improvements in the 8th gen.

It must be pointed out that the current 8th gen games are 1st wave releases. 3rd party games are essentially ports. And 1st party games are first efforts on all new hardware. So sure; it's not unusual to be as non-plussed by the current games as one should have been at the first wave of 7th gen games.

Looking at some of the games that were developed for 6th gen hardware yet also received 7th gen ports, it's pretty clear that the main update/advantage was higher resolutions, maybe smoother frame rates.

If either MS or SCE had gone with an all out, break the bank, let's lose hundreds on every unit sold approach for the 8th gen, look no further than top end PC hardware to see where that would have topped out. At best, we'd be playing on consoles that could output resolutions to multiple displays or 4k displays, neither of which are in the typical living room.

I'd be surprised if 4k HDTVs become an up market standard by the end of the 8th gen.

As for multi-displays, as much as I love panoramic gaming, it's better suited to the desktop where a minimal amount of console gaming takes place.

As unsexy as it may sound, arguably the best update to the current gen of console hardware would be multiplying the amount of VRAM/RAM by 16 x.

I'm going to call BS on this comparison.

Granted, it's tougher to tell on tiny downscaled JPEGs, but what it looks like to me is the same image with more artifacts on the "XB1" image due to higher compression.

In short, it looks like someone saved one version of the downscaled screen shot at higher quality compression and a second file of the same shot at lower quality compression in Photoshop. I could do the same thing with any screen grab myself with identical results.

Bold 1: Im sorry but this is just not true. The reason for the side by side comparison was he wanted to see if the game was worth getting when he upgrades next month (his conclusion was yes). Bold 2: Uncharded 2 came out 3 years into the systems life look what the PS$ is doing just months in to its life http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/02/03/infamous-second-son-vs-infamous-2-screenshot-comparison-the-leap-from-ps3-to-ps4/ . Also the diff from early ps3 releases like resistance were far less noticable of an upgrade.Bold 3: Lastly you do have a right to your opinion  i just dont agree with it :)
