I'm going into this game with high hopes. Never got around to playing DKCR, although I was planning on buying it on the 3DS. Which probably is not the best way to go... anyway! Excited.

I wonder if there will be a MetaCritic improvement over DKCR.

As someone who owns both versions of Donkey Kong Country Returns, I really don't think you can go wrong with either version. The 3DS makes some graphical downgrades to run well on the 3DS, but the gameplay is just as amazing. It also lacks the motion controls from the Wii version, which is a plus if you weren't into that type of control scheme.

Doesn't the 3DS version have an extra special world too?

I haven't gotten far enough into the 3DS version to experience it, but yeah from what I read it has an extra world.

The co-op was abysmal in the last game. DKCR is one of my favorite games of all time, but the multiplayer mode was unbalanced and frustrating.

I am glad the game was well received. Hopefully the lack of worlds does not mean it is considerably shorter.

They say that levels are longer now, so it probably compensates for having only 6 worlds.

OT: I need this game NOW!!!11!!11!!1

But what's the problem in the later levels with co-op?

You can't have a novice player on your side, otherwise your lives will drop like flies. Quite a few of the later levels, as well as some of the bonus levels, have destructible environments which means that both players have to be on the same page. Neither can lag behind the other by a bit, because the platforms break apart.

Sounds like the harder Rayman levels, but that has infinite lives, so yeah that would be a problem.

So its just harder in co-op.

I'd be really suprised if there is no special world.

Didn't the first one only had 1 extra stage? The one with the floating bananas.

It could be the same on this one.

Ahh... my 7th game to purchase for the Wii U. Or 8th, if I plan to go out and get Wonderful 101 sometime soon.
