It got really frustrating in the later levels, we pretty much gave up in world 6.
Very worrying this has not been adressed, huge red flag for us :(

But what's the problem in the later levels with co-op?

I'm shit in 2d platforms, so I found DKCR frustratingly fun. I am excited yet anxious about this title - hope it isn't insanely difficult.

Famitsu gave 35/40 and 32/40 to Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Game Informer gave 9.25 and 9.5 to DKCR. They also gave 3D World 9.25.

Never played a 2d plat former co-op mode but I just know it'd frustrate the hell outta me.

DKCR on 3DS is great and even better than on Wii IMO. I found the game on 3DS even more responsive, I always found the Wii remote (for all Wii games) kind of laggy. And also no more motion gimmick based failed jumps. The game also really is beautiful on the 3DS hardware, it's impressive.

You can buy the game on 3DS in confidence... before buying the Wii U game of course!

As someone who owns both versions of Donkey Kong Country Returns, I really don't think you can go wrong with either version. The 3DS makes some graphical downgrades to run well on the 3DS, but the gameplay is just as amazing. It also lacks the motion controls from the Wii version, which is a plus if you weren't into that type of control scheme.

Doesn't the 3DS version have an extra special world too?
