My 7 year old niece also always wants to prematurely end a game and start different game, if she is ahead ;)

Except Nintendo weren't the only ones to end the game and start the next; Sony and Microsoft have as well, with PS4 and Xbone.

They weren't? Didn't they start the 8th console generation with the WiiU? Sony and Microsoft joined the new game but didn't end the other game.

They play two games at the same time and the WiiU has to hold its ground against 4 competitors: the PS4 + XBO (8th generation) with much better hardware and 3rd party support on the upper end and the PS3 + 360 (7th generation) with great game portfolios, steady software support, lower hardware and software prices and even room for price cuts on the lower end... while Nintendo dropped Wii support even a year before the launch of the Wii U.

"Last gen" means the same as "last week". "Last month". "Last year". It's in the past. Over. Finished.

It's not still 2013 just cos 2013's editions of Call of Duty and Just Dance are still selling.

It is just your opinion that a game/race automatically ends if another one starts, no fact. It is your opinion that it is even a race with a clear-cut end, no fact.

Man let him have his point... he won't ever accept different, because when you don't arguee facts, you don't need to be rational... My post were I dethroned his broken record got ignored by him... and when he asked what post and I gave a link, he kept ignoring. So let's say PS3/X360 sales have stoped to matter and all the money made will go to the sink.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

I had about 5 people posting at me, I prioritised the least nonsensical.

HD resolution output doesnt really count as processing power spec such as Tflops for example. And given how most U games are 720p where almost all PS4 games are 1080p, the 50% difference in pixels is still there. (720p vs 480p)

The gap in actuall spec raw power and memory is bigger than ever

720p is 3 times as many pixels as 480p, 1080p is only double 720p. (And a much less perceptible leap thanks to diminishing returns)

You sure like those 2 words a lot, is it a wishful thinking made as a coping tactic to deal with U's  inferior hardware perhaps?

DIminishing results are nowhere to be seen yet, we've still got a long way to go

We didnt cover 1/5 of the picture yet

 PS3 demo

 PS4 demo

Diminishing !!

Also, the gap between the actual specs, (GPU, CPU, RAM and everything else) i still bigger

Im not saying its still 7th gen, im just saying the number you give it doesnt change the fact that its still an active product.

It is still an active product, yes. I just meant it's no longer a runner in the 7th gen race, because that race has concluded.

Still dont see why another race started in another stadium should affect an ongoing race with obviously different competitors.

How did they make the biggest leap? If anything they shot themselves in the foot. Nintendo can still appeal to the little ones and make an effort to attract more 3rd parties. Most in the industry consider them a console for little children. I just believe they can do more to change that image and still make great 1st party games

Because PS3/360/Wii are now last gen. Last as in last year, last month, last week.

Those pics do show diminishing returns compared to previous generational leaps.

The perceptible difference between 720p and 1080p is nowhere near that of 480p to 720p.

And the GPU gap is considerably smaller; this time, both are programmable DX10/11 level cards, whereas Wii harkened back to an older method of rendering compared to PS3.

PS4, X1 and wii U are also last month, last week. So what?

They still all sell TODAY.
