Unless of course you guys are going to say "i would hand on heart pay full retail for a console that uses RF as its default video output".

I'd be happy paying retail price for an SNES if I couldn't easily get one cheaper. And if I didn't already have one from 1994 that still works. ;)

So, you're trying to tell me if a new console launched today, with the same spec as the snes, you would willingly pay the asking price of $199 for it?

If its library was as strong as the SNES, yeah!

But would it really be as strong? or are you simply looking at past games with rose tinted nostalgia glasses.

Nope, I'm just not looking at the present with rose-tinted "cool new toy" goggles. ;)

Sub 544p / 30fps. Persona 4 Golden.

May I ask what the point of this thread is?

Metro: Last Light, 2560x1440@100fps

Skyrim, 2560x1440@120fps

Tie between the two.

I just cant begin to fathom how Metro Last Light would be anyones favorite FPS, let alone favorite game of all time. Even with QHD resolution & 100 FPS and all...

Like have you played Goldeneye, Halo, Half Life 2, FEAR...etc?

To point out that its not all about fps / resolution that makes a game great I suppose.

Yeah the PS2 had a couple too. They both had 1 or 2 1080i games too. These are the most common resolutions. Almost all of them have variations of some kind. The PS2 for example could output almost any resolution between 240p and 1080i.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

Interesting that vast majority of people here have posted games that run at 480p or below.

1. Everquest, started playing it in 1024x768, last time played in 1280x1024 '04
2. Civilization 320x200
3. ICO 512x224 -> 1920x1080 HD version
4. Grim fandango 800x600
5. SotC 512x448 -> 960x1080 HD version

Resolution didn't matter as much with low detail games and CRT displays. With LCD displays, native resolution has a considerable boost in clarity as opposed to any upscaling. Upscaling is the new interlacing.
