Congratulations to developer CyberConnect2 because the Naruto franchise of video games has never been more successful! Namco Bandai Games Japan today announced over 1.8 million copies of Naruto Storm 3 have been shipped worldwide! The game surpasses it’s predecessor and previous record holder, Naruto Storm Generations, which had over 1 million copies shipped back in July 2012.

So it shipped 1.8 million copies but Vgchartz only has it as selling 1 million copies. It should be significantly more than that.

Not just that but it says they shipped 1 million copies of Generations by mid 2012 and as of this week Vgchartz has it at selling nearly 1.1 million copies so must be undertracked by a few hundred thousand itself.

Also Ninja Storm 2 was said to have SOLD 1.1 million copies as of May 2011, 7 months after release. Vgchartz has it at selling 1.9 million copies, that's probably undertracked aswell.

Is this with Full Burst rerelease included or only the vanilla game?

It doesn't specifically say but I'd assume that it would.

Storm 3 sold 1 million copies across US and Europe by May 2013. Vgchartz have it at selling that much as of January 2014 and with Japan and other countries sales included.

They also have Tekken Tag Tournament 2 as selling 1.5 million copies worldwide as of May 2013 and again Vgchartz only has it at selling almost 1.1 million copies of January 2014. So that may also be under tracked a lot.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 sold 590,000 copies in Japan on PS3/Vita by May 2013. Vgchartz has it at selling 530,000 copies as of January 2014.

Namco Bandai in January 2012 said they'd sold 10 million Naruto games. Vgchartz has them at selling 10.9 million games and that would include additional games that had been made since.

Anyways, VGChartz isn't perfect at tracking sales. They're bound to undertrack or overtrack things sometimes.

For the love of god how hard is it to make a DBZ and One Piece game as good as the Ultimate Ninja series.

The probelm is Vgchartz don't fix numbers even when figures are revealed.

We know this game sold 1.8 million, we know it's undertracked on here considerably but will they ever bother to fix and update the numbers?

Nope.

I agree with the One Piece part but DBZ on the other hand should just be put to rest.

Official numbers get revealed, Vgchartz still doesn't update the numbers.

It has shipped 1.8 million, it hasn't sold 1.8 million. VGC likely does need to adjust their figures, but I'd expect the number to be a lot closer to 1.5 sold at retail.
