Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Mergers And Acquisitions? What should Nintendo Acquire?

I think people naming the really big companies need to set their sights a bit lower. Nintendo's not going to buy Capcom, nor should they. Try also to consider things from the other company's perspective: no way would Take Two allow Nintendo to buy them, any more than Nintendo would agree to be bought by Microsoft, for any sum. Acquiring studios like Camelot and Next Level Games would be pretty redundant, as they already have healthy relationships with Nintendo.

Honestly, I could think of better things for Nintendo to do with their money than buying dev studios outright. But if they're in a buying mood, might I suggest Silicon Studio? The Bravely trilogy would become a joint project between Nintendo and Square, bringing the two closer together, and once those games were finished, Nintendo would have their own experienced classic JRPG team. They would make a nice complement to Monolith Soft and Intelligent Systems.

First of all, Nintendo should purchase some online-savvy tech company. Seriously, half of their problems these past few years can be connected to below-average online services. More than any single comparable game studio, what Nintendo could really use is some people to improve Nintendo Network.

This could hopefully result in:

  • Miiverse being improved
  • Better online play
  • More/better online services like PokeBank
  • Faster download times for games and updates
  • More efficent operating systems

It wouldn't even have to be a huge company! A small, experienced firm of 50 people could work wonders without pushing Nintendo's budget.

Capcom. Would seal the japanese deal completely. More than anything they should start up their own devs.

I don't agree. Take Two may be "big," but it's nowhere near Nintendo. For every GTA V, Nintendo sells 5 Pokemons. After a certain price, it makes little sence not to allow Nintendo to buy them. Activision already might. I say, beat them to the punch, and hard. And there's no reason why they shouldn't buy Capcom.

I agree with this entirely.

Cmon dude... you have to think a bit more than that.

Theres alot more Pokemon games than GTA games. Do the overall math, not just the latest titles.

UBISOFT and let them handle EUROPE and take over where Rare left off

in fact ubisoft can handle the whole west
