Ugh, seriously? They already confirmed Halo 5 or whatever is 1080p60. Plus Forza and other games do it.

The GPU's between the two really aren't that different. Both are underpowered as they should have been 2.5 Tflops, but even then isn't that much of a change - as you need to double power for humans to really notice.

Stop spreading FUD!

Yeah... the PS4's GPU is just ~50% more powerful, not that big a diffrence...

Stop spreading FUD!

Then why is the best looking game for the new gen a 2nd party game on the Xbox One?

That's both debatable and also irrelevant. The only 2 exclusive games we can really compare right now are Ryse and Killzone, and they are hardly comparable anyway. Ignoring their totally different art styles and camera, one went for more confined environments, a lower resolution and less real time events on screen, the other went with large open areas, high amounts of on screen events, a higher resolution and a higher frame rate.

Seeing as the opinion on the two is very split, and they are so different both in their style and tech, we can't really compare them. Until we have actual comparable games (Uncharted/Gears - Killzone/Halo), all discussion on the matter are pointless. All we can legitimately compare right now are the multi-plats, and the X1 is being rather consistently butt sapped in that area.

Im guessing you didn't actually play Ryse. Hell 5 seconds into the game there are guys all over the screen with a massive battle unfolding. Explosions, debris and fire all over the damn place.

Dood doesn't know what he's talking about anyway.

Actually, even the PS4 has no 1080P 60 locked retail games. TR PS4 isn't 60 it averages 50.98. KS SF isn't close to 60. Drive Club is 30

Wut?

PS4
Killzone SF........1080p, 30-60 fps
DC Universe......1080p, 60 fps
Resogun...........1080p, 60 fps
DriveClub..........1080p, 30 fps (dev working on 60 fps)
Infamous..........1080p, 30 fps
COD Ghosts.......1080p, 60 fps
AC4 Black Flag...1080p, 30 fps
Tomb Raider......1080p, 60 fps
Watch Dogs.......1080p, 30 fps (rumored)
Thief.................1080p, ? fps

Xbox One
Forza 5..............1080p, 60 fps = Which is vastly downgraded compared to E3 viceo.
Ryse...................900p, 30 fps
Killer Instinct.......720p, 60 fps
DR 3...................720p, 30 fps
COD Ghosts.........720p, 60 fps
AC4 Black Flag.....900p, 30 fps
Tomb Raider......1080p, 30 fps
Watch Dogs........900p, 30 fps (rumored)
Thief..................720p, ? fps (rumored)

They have one (not counting crimson dragon), decent game with 1080p 60fps. But its way inferior to E3 video. We wont be seeing 1080p 60fps game in xbox one very soon.

All it takes is one game running at 1080p natively and 60 fps to make this statement null and void. Oh hello Forza.

Oh hello downgraded visuals of forza 5.

Forza is a title of concessions. Baked in lighting, no weather or day/night effects. Plus it is a racing game. Racing games are usually easier to make look pretty while getting decent performance out of them. Besides, there are like what 6 titles total that run at 1080p and half those are capped at 30fps.

Where did MS confirm Halo 5 is 1080p 60fps? They haven't even confirmed a release date and there is only an "unofficial" website for rumors.

So far the results are bearing out that these claims are more truth than anything else.

Bonnie ross said at E3, "First time a halo console experience at a blistering 60fps". But she didnt said anything about 1080p. We have to wait till actual confirmation.

Xbox One games dont mention resolution in retail box to hide from critism.

In due time. I trust in Microsoft

Starting to think people at VGchartz are getting money hatted by Sony. Would make since, since they sponsor and pay for vgchartz. I wouldn't doubt it with all the rubbish articles.

It isn't so much that it can't do it.  It can.

But there's always the argument of making pretty games or making games that run well.

You have Uncharted on one side, 720p30, but then you have Wipeout HD at 1080p60.  It helps for Wipeout that it has variable resolution, but aside from that, there are times when it does run at 1080p60.

For the PS3, there was that argument, most of the time the answer was 720p30 with prettier games.  Even though it could run 1080p60.

So him saying that it isn't going to happen soon means that he thinks that MS is going to choose a pretty game over one that runs at 1080p60.

Before anyone says that Forza looks great and it is 1080p60, I am talking about relatively.  Relatively speaking it would probably be ugly compared to a game that runs at 720p30 on the same system.  At least in screenshots.

That goodness someone gets it.  This hits the nail on the head, well stated.
