Forums - Microsoft - Xbox Fitness App is what Gamers need

The Xbox One is Microsoft’s latest foray into the console gaming market. Last year we saw innovations like the Kinect and PlayStation Move extend the console life cycle just a little bit further. In the creation of this, it brought about the Xbox One Fitness app that gamers have been able to utilize on their consoles. Fitness is needed all walks of life, whether you’re an animal, gym rat, or overweight. It doesn’t matter how healthy you think you are it can’t hurt to shoot for an even better you.

That is why I think the Xbox Fitness app on the Xbox One is the one app that might push the console into the right direction. I know that it is hard for gamers to go against routine habits they have of not being active, I used to be one of those people. However, back then it wasn’t as accessible to get in shape, there was and still a lot of distractions that took away from everyday life. Most of you reading are probably going to say,”Just go to the gym, if you want to lose weight”. The only problem with that is how much time does the average person really have? Some people work two jobs, have children to raise, and career moms have families.

So, I guess the question I want rattling around in your brain is how will these types of people find time to work out?

The answer to that is Xbox Fitness. Microsoft’s XBOX recently announced that they have had 1.5 million workouts since the launch and we can only assume that this will rise as the time progresses. Although you need an Xbox Gold account, you shouldn’t let that stop you. Xbox Fitness is a great app that when coupled with a good diet can reap tons of benefits. With workouts from Tony Horton and P90x to Jillian Michaels workouts, Xbox One Fitness provides you with a high intensity workout to help get your muscles moving and the sweat pouring.

These workouts are great because for any person that wants to lose the body fat and needs to take the initial step into getting back in to shape. They can help provide the kick in your butt motivation to make sure you are losing those calories. There are also stamps that you can earn that will increase your ranking, which is a great incentive for those of you that like to earn achievement-like statuses. Its a great way of incorporating gamification into the app.

In conclusion, I ask gamers to give Xbox Fitness a chance; it is an app that provides a lot for little value. If you have an Xbox One, you most likely have an Xbox gold account. What better way to lose the baby weight or get back into shape slowly but surely by incorporating a better diet and 30 minutes of Xbox Fitness into your life. Give it a try!

I've long thought one of the perfect matches for Kinect was exercise games. I've said on here before that P90X should make a Kinect game.

I'm still waiting for 'Xbox One Fitness' program to show up on QVC/HSN - televised home shopping networks, as special promotions. I think they would sell out quickly.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Meh, I'll take gym over this.

Xbox One is for games!..... and movies... apps..... music....

I don't like the kinect staring at me lustily while I work up a sweat! OK!!!

I do know Wagnerpaiva, (hope I spelt that right..) uses this somewhat often as well as a couple of other users on my friends list.

I love Xbox Fitness. I got more than 2 million fitness points on January. I need someone who play it to add me as a friend so I can compare my results to his.

Mossa workouts are the best for me.

I'll add you in a couple weeks when I get the Xbone, I am looking forward to Xbox Fitness.

I was one of those extremely excited for Xbox Fitness. Sadly, Xbox Fitness is nothing but a demo of the programs Team Beach Body offers. Until they add the full programs, Xbox Fitness will not be a compelling app worth making Xbox One purchase. Luckily, I'm a gamer too hence why I got the Xbox but Xbox Fitness has a long way to go.
