Forums - Gaming - So the Wii WAS a toy

The sony and ms consoles are artforms, which is slightly different. You don't 'play' ps360 games, you experience them.

Yes and Nintendo is a toy company.. you are absolved.

EVERY video game console is, at its most basic function, a toy. It´s something to play with.

so my penis is a toy as well?

They are called sex toys.

I think we can assume so. After all, millions of people buy rubber penis to play with them.

I think we all know/knew that much of what the Wii did was aimed at children/nongamers/newgamers. That was never really a question. However, this did not mean that it was a bad console for everyone else.

An issue does come up when you begin calling any games console a toy, as stated by others in this thread...Your problem comes out of how you are saying things more than what you say, along with the fact that you seem to imply that this is a bad thing or something that harms the Wii's ability to fit the definition of "game console" alongside the definition of "toy".

Boy, I bet you've been waiting a while to make this thread. Right?

My original threads were about how Nintendo does too much to focus on children and the casual audience. The threads were never about the definition of toy, but Nintendo fans sure loved to pretend that's what they were about :D

So you should change the title to "The Wii was aimed to children and casuals" instead of "was a toy". As you said, if the threads were not about the definition of of "toy", then you shouldn´t bring that matter to the table here, because it diverges from what you´re trying to argue.

It's your choice to derail the thread and break forum rules, not mine.

Words don't have to be used in strict semantic fashion. I could say "the movie was a blast". You don't have to come in and talk about explosions.
