In 1978, Konami began releasing video games. They became a hit developer and publisher in 1981, thanks to titles like Frogger.
About two years later, in 1983, Capcom was founded. By the end of 1985, they had become well known thanks to games like 1942.
For decades, Konami and Capcom have been some of the dominant players in the video game industry. Of all the developers and publishers to never develop their own consoles, few can compare to these Japanese giants that have covered a multitude of genres over the years.
The purpose of this vote is to determine which of these two companies have historically created the Best lineups, as chosen by the VGChartz community.
Vote for one company or the other in each of the following seven categories:
- 8-Bit Console/Arcade Games
- 16 Bit Console/Arcade Games
- The Fifth Generation of Consoles
- The SIxth Generation fo Consoles
- The Seventh Generation of Consoles
- Handhelds up until the release of the NIntendo DS
- Handhelds since the release of the Nintendo DS
Examples of games in each cagtegory will be posted below.
I'll tally up all the votes for each era, then based on the sum of all seven categories, I'll name a winner. The winner will be, at earliest, named on February 14, in a bit over 2 weeks from now.
