'The approach towards children was insufficient', still confused, does he imply they need to approach other ages as well, or to focus even more on children?

in the case they will focus on children even more, makes perfect sense actually, Nintendo's main profit comes from Mario, Animal Crossing and other kid-friendly games, and not from Zelda and Metroid

Also, from my point of view, most Nintendo games are not kiddy, but kid-friendly I would say, so they are probably planning to make kid-only games, Mario Kart/SSB which is both core and kid-friendly

their approach is false I believe, Nintendo my dear, if you want to target kids, you have to make GTA, Call of Duty and Halo as well, except if you only want ages 4-8 which is too narrow to result in much more profit than it does now

but, but dude those gamers are matuuur!!

They are mature. They contain blood and violence and sometimes nudity. These types of games attracts a lot of children, but that doesn't make them for children. That's like calling porn for kids just because lots of kids watch porn.

children want to be adult. they play gta and call of duty.
adults who were children in 90's play nintendo.

Maturity isn't based on how much blood is shed when you cut a person's head, nor how many naked chicks are in the game. Saints Row has a lot of violence and partial nudity, but it doesn't make the game mature. Bioshock, for example, has a lot of violence, but that violence is handle in a very mature way.

You also don't need violence or nudity to make something mature.

Everyone is out to get Nintendo. Confirmed!

No. Nintendo admitted what everyone knew was always wrong with them.

Yes I hear this a lot. Nintendo's games aren't mature if that's what you're getting at.

Well, I was talking from a rating stand point and that legally you need to be mature to play those games, but you don't need to be mature to play games without blood and violence. I get where you're coming from though.

The only Nintendo game I consider truly mature is Zelda: Majora's Mask. That's the perfect example of a game that doesn't need violence or nudity to be mature. There are others like some Fire Emblem games and other Zelda tittles, but to a lesser extend.

The little faith I had left in Iwata has been restored due to "lost in translation".

It seems "please understand" can be sometimes difficult to understand.

Absolutely, but there are a lot more games that are rated M (that use blood, sex and violence) that are actually mature.

Never said otherwise. I even used Bioshock as an example.
