I find this impressive, especially considering it was released on the same day as BF4 and CoD.

Vastly undertracked.. they need to bump up the numbers at least 500k. 400k in store shelfs seems about right.

2.1 million? A mix between shipped and digital seems to be the reason why there is a massive gap in the data here. Everything else so far regarding the PS4 and Xbox One has been pretty spot on... Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Today, Sony revealed in a Tweet that its exclusive shooter Killzone: Shadow Fall – available at launch – has sold 2.1 million copies to date. Since all PS4 games are available digitally, this likely puts retail and digital numbers together in one. Shadow Fall’s numbers are impressive, and indicate a strong attach rate for the game that could be in the range of one game sold for every three or so consoles in the wild.
WOW, massively undertracked here. Amazing sales although I personally was disappointed in the game. Just shows making games at launch does not mean bad sales due to lower install base. |
Now that I think about it, with digital sales not being tracked and this being shipped VG is probably not far off. Yes I am talking to myself.

I highly doubt digital makes up for that much, especially for a game like Killzone. I'd say digital may account for 100K or so. But, there's no way it accounts for over half a million in sales. |
I thought 1/3rd to 1/4th was a direct sony quote for what they do on digital.
Or was that Nintendo?
Downloadable percentages should grow... and honestly, should be higher for launch games since it will be bought by early adapters who are going to be more digital friendly/digitally inclined.
Either way, regardless, you can expect a lot more stock on shelves then you'd see mid or late gen for most games, since there are so few games to be had.
The launch window of the gen is where 500K to 3 million franchises can really shine, doubling or even tripling their expected output.
Espiecally since it's getting decent add time/at the center of the generic PS4 ads.
All told this will be the best selling killzone by a wide margin.

I don´t think the sales on the site are undertracked. I would a chunck of those sales would be digital

No its not they don´t track digital numbers.
I think most sales came from bundles than digital.
My guesses:
+ 1.6m retail
+ 200k digital
+ 300k on shelves

Which is why they're so far off.
