they expected obviously more from sony's own studios and less sales on ps4 because of that. how could they expect some years ago that microsoft will be the manufacturer with more exclusives competing against ea games.

I believe people should understand that this is still a Respawn game and EA only have publishing rights. Without understanding the contract between EA and Respawn, no one can really understand what EA can or even will do for Titanfall. Also without knowing how much money changed hands between EA and MS, who's to know if they will be losing any money on the deal.
Another thing to consider is the install base for the X1 compared to PS4. Just because the PS4 sold more does not mean their customer base for a FPS game like Titanfall is bigger.
As for porting the game to the PS3, that would mean more resources on Respawn end to insure a successful port. Not know how well the 360 version will turn out, who can say having another team doing the PS3 port would turn out any better or even worst if people on the respawn team do not have the skill to ensure a proper port. With a new IP that really did not have any buzz until much later than when this deal was done, the risk of going multiplat compared to exclusive was probably too much. Going exclusive gave Respawn a focus and money in the pocket even if the game is not a great success. It allows them to improve the game and continue to pay their people a salary. If the game is successful they can easily do the second one multiplat just like COD.

That's why I like you sales, even if we are on the opposite sides, when things are obvious you cut the crap.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!

EA may be comfortable with their decision, but there is no denying that their original forecast may have been misguided. Since their release, the PS4 has sold 4.2 million consoles worldwide while the Xbox One sold 3.9 million. It's not a major difference, but I'd like to know what EA's forecast originally estimated. In all likelihood, Microsoft probably paid EA quite handsomely for exclusivity, but is what Microsoft paid enough to make up for the revenue the game could've earned on PS3 and PS4? |
Lol
Anyone buying on thisbs? And EA is still confident that Xbone IS selling more than PS4?

If that's the reason they're giving us I guess that means we'll be seeing Titanfall 2 on PS4, right guys?

This. We all know the real reason and have for a long time.
Of course the real question is whether this regards the initial timed exclusive deal or the new hotness complete exclusivo.

I agree 100%.

Because they already said that when people brought up their sports titles. They don't like to give the same answer twice.
