I'm not sure that will do them any good on the hardware front. At this point, I think their best strategy would be to find a way to push out more Nintendo software since it's obvious they can't rely on 3rd parties.

Fuck region locking.... |
So true. I really enjoy games in a language I cannot understand and I dont understand why they dont just unlock them so I can play more games I have no clue whats being said. I mean just look at those PS3 games from Japan like Yakuza. 20 million in sales. That series really benefited from being region free. /s
Yes! This is wonderful news! Also, I notice that Tomodachi Collection is coming to the west! I've been so curious about that one for a while now. I wonder if Yokai Watch will come here, that one looks like it'd do well under this strategy. And let's not forget Mother 3. With Earthbound doing so well on virtual console Mother 3 would do great.
You could spin that 2 ways.
Either Nintendo is super nice to their western fan base or there are not enough new games coming to the west that they have to rely on already made games.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Some of those games look fantastic. Besides the ones you named I also liked Zero: Tsukihami no Kamen and Earth Seeker.
Nintendo's future looks interesting.
Or y'know Nintendo you could actually maybe make more Western games since you're struggling so much in the Western market?
I get the feeling Nintendo views that as a non-starter because Sony/MS do it, and if Sony/MS do it, well then Nintendo can't possibly do it. I almost feel like their business policy basically revolves around doing the opposite of the competition basically no matter what (whether it makes a lick of sense or not).
I am a South American with a Wii U and I have no E Shop. Many argentines who buy 3DS or Wii Us lie and write down they are canadian in order to be able to buy games online, then they use international credit cards.
Nintendo should fix that.
i wonder when the hell they'll realise that they need more 1st party western devs other than Retro, they really need to establish somethign like EAD NA/EU or whatever.

No, we've been getting quicker localizations like Pokemon X & Y, Chibi Robo, Fire Emblem Awakening(considering the one before didn't come to the states) and now Disney Magic Castle. 3rd Parties are also localizing quicker too. The issue is mostly Square isn't localizing and the fact that Sega doesn't have a prominent brand for Puyo Puyo but they could just use Tetris. I assume they are going to try to get almost all 1st Party and 2nd Party releases in the West now.
