by the end of december only only 500, 000 wiiu in stores world wide just doesnt sound right  unless they stopped taking orders.  and yes 400 is extremely low when your talking world wide.

No its not. Most retailers had already reduced the on hand qty of wiiu due to how poorly its been selling.

500k on shelves sounds just about perfect.

Eitherway, you're never going to 100% perfect and this is statistically as close as you're going to get.

maybe it is time to get that virtual store out for all mobiles/tab/pc devices for a nintendo catalogue of games ,such easy money

becasue it seems us and gaming consoles will be ever more niche than usual and won't effect the massive casual maeket out there

north america 150k on store shelves

japan 100k on store shelves

europe 100 k on store shelves

rest of world 50k on store shelve

just doesn't make any sense unless retailers are not ordering wiiu's. that would make the wiiu extremely hard to find.

Large retailers in UK completely stopped carrying Wii U.

Many large retailers in NA started caring very few stock on-hand that did in fact make it routinely out of stock during holidays, especially the mario bundle.

There have been numerous reports on this.

Additionally, this is nothing new. You've only been on this site for a year. 500k to 1m is actually a very good range of WW stock levels outside of holidays/launch.

Minus 2 million shipments for WiiU!?

... just kidding. Pokemon did well, at least. And a profit is always excellent.

800k-1.2 mil is a good range. wiiu- is 300-500k, seems way too low to me, i'm thinking there are easily 800k sitting on store shelves. but then again retailers might be doing a clearance, thats why its such a low number.

Well, they CAN go on a very long time.  They have over $8 Billion US in cash and other assets that they could spend before going in debt.... so they could perform at this rate for 40 years and still be with us.  However, they WON'T go on like this for more than another year.  You can be sure that there is panic in HQ as they think of new strategies to change their business model.  Iwata won't last much longer without change, and Nintendo really needs to start growing.  Shrinkage is bad.

Thanks for pointing this out. I guess there are many who really think Nintendo is going for bankrupt in 1 or 2 years...

They really to change their business model for sure. Definitely a lot of wrong decisions recenty.

Working closer with 3rd parties would be a big step, they are all alone with the WiiU. 3DS on the other hand had great handling.

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

That's a good range when your console is selling very well.  ~400K-500K is going to be fine for the Wii U, as it's not.   Retailers will lower shipments so that stock falls to a bare minimum that they need.

For those interested to hear about Nintendo's short-term and long-term plans, Nintendo will be having an Investors Meeting at 8:00 PM EST.

Our friend David Gibson will be providing us updates throughout the night:

I hope some of you will join. Should be interesting.

So the meeting is in 3 hours?
