Forums - Sony - Do you think Sony fixed or will fix the DS4 with future shipments?

Mainly change the sticks´ gumming and fixing L1 R1.

Is it even possible to intervene in the production which is planned months beforehand?

wasn't that just a rumor?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I know about 10 people with PS4s and not one with a pad problem of any kind, i wouldnt worry about it.

I've heard nothing about this. However, if its a real problem, they'll fix it. They swapped the SIXAXIS for the DS3 and MS swapped the original 360 controller for one with a better D-Pad. There's a precedent so I assume it will be fixed sooner or later.

You can't fix what's not broken.

The Pi Guy recently posted an article in which SCE and I think the company that makes components for DS4 adressed the issue, saying they will be exchanging DS4s within warranty, will try to find it. Edit. http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/11/14/ps4-infamous-second-son-bundle-announced

That to be honest is enough for me, I will probably buy another DS4 this holiday, all should be new, hopefully not faulty batches.

I haven't had pretty much any problem with the R1/L1 myself, got stuck for like a second once or twice, the rubber has weared off the sticks though.

Edit.http://egamer.co.za/2014/01/representative-provides-official-statement-ps4s-dualshock-4-wear-tear/

“A very small number of users have reported to us that the rubber surface of their Wireless Controller (DUAKSHOCK®4)’s analogue sticks have torn. Although the rubber material of the analogue sticks fulfils our quality assurance standard, we will inspect individual DUALSHOCK®4 controllers experiencing this symptom, and will replace them with new ones for free as long as they are within the warranty.”

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

The problem I have with the DS4 is that something is wrong with the mic port. On my phone the ps4 mic works just fine. On the DS4, the plug doesn't connect like it should so I have to constantly move it around before it is recognized. Some pretty shoddy design that's kind of surprising.

Only issue with the DS4 is the battery life. Everything else is just made up, imo

I only know 2 people with Ps4's but both of them are having issues with their controllers, mostly the rubber coming off.  Neither of them are major gamers.

The reason they swapped out Sixaxis for DS3 is because they were being sued by the patent holders for failure to pay royalties. Once that was cleared up they could once again use Rumble on their controllers. The original lied and said that it would interfere with the motion sensing of Sixaxis.

Do a search and you will see that this is a known issue. On N4G there is an article from before and after Sony admitted to the issue and the responses are typical. Before posters had no issue nor had they ever heard anything, much like the responses here, and after the same members wer experiencing those issues but it was no big deal. It honestly doesnt matter if they fix it or not.
