I can see them going with advertisements, but game demos?
Imagine playing Super Mario 3d land on your smartphone... it wouldn't work out to well, so how are the gonna make it as close to the 3ds version as possible with touchscreen controls?

Don't know but some advertisements are never bad

What about Pokemon on a smart phone?  Fire Emblem?  Brain Age?  Animal Crossing?  Art Academy?  All of those could work very well on smart phones.

If it took 5 people to make Wind Waker HD, I'm pretty sure it will only take 1 guy to make a small smartphone game and probably like 10 bucks.

One guy that could have been making a funny eShop game, instead of yet another endless runner.

Unfortunately at this point, that funny eshop game won't make them much moneyl, while the smartphone game most likely will.

I don't really like the idea of Nintendo making games for phones, but if it helps the console and handheld counterpart, I'm not against it all. And of course as long as they keep stupid, small mini-games, don't go and make a full Mario, Zelda or Metroid game for smartphones, I would be pissed if that happens.

Then call it quits, and embrace the mobile world if you think your own device or electronic shop isn't up to it.

Don't dabble in the mobile market and get full on in it. No ad game, let's say put a full game, like Advance Wars or Pokemon.

Nope, it's not nice. It creates expectations, and they don't want mobile rip-offs, they want the real deal.

I only remember a huge backlash for the PS All Star one, because that was actually a marketing campaign embrace by Coca-Cola Zero. Didn't even know the R&C and Sly games existed.

Don't demo's usually reduce sales? I'm pretty sure there was a study that only a small percentage of people who play demos actually buy the game. The rest who were originally thinking of getting the game felt like they already got enough of the games experience from the demo. So, they either put-it off as a low priority or cancel their plans of buying the game.
Maybe that's not accurately how it went, but it's something like that.

However, "Talking Tom"or pet-like games with Nintendo characters may work to familiarize younger gamers to Nintendo.

Nikkei clearly says "may." So this isn't some through and through truth.

However, Ads on Smart-phones/Tablets isn't a bad idea. Game demos, though?

Do this means panic ND this week? I think so.

That's not what I mean at all. We "hardcore" gamers will have Super Mario 3D World in all it's glory, while "casual" gamers will have Mario Candy Crush 3D (just go with it). We will have Pikmin 3 while them will have some sort of Pikmin minigame like in NintendoLand. We will have a massive open world Zelda (let me dream for a bit), while them will have a cucco chase minigame. You get the idea.

And as long as marketing is done correctly, those users who play Mario Candy Crush 3D are also potential buyers for Mario 3D World, both can definitely coexist and they can benefit each other out.

I suspect we'll see Android on Nintendo devices long before we see Nintendo on mobile devices.
