I was really disappointed that they took colors out though, seems like lazy game design or a rushed project.

They started making Pikmin 3 is 2008. Then delayed it from a Wii U launch title to a mid 2013 release. If certainly wasn't rushed.

Around the Network

I have only played Pikmin 3, I'll get someday 1 and 2, but I can tell you what I think thanks to LetsPlaying.

Pikmin 2 > 3 >> 1

2 just has more little touches that make it more special (singing Pikmin, easter eggs, Piklopedia, the messages from Olimar's family...) and it just felt like it was new and fresh, different enough to Pikmin 1. Plus it had an amazing balance in difficulty (except for purple Pikmin).

Pikmin 3 is just a blast, I don't get how people are complaining for controls or gameplay. the bosses are epic and scary, and the music is gorgeus. The final area is incredibly great, I've never felt so inmersed by a game before. But it feels too much of doing the same until the game is over. In 2 you get money, but you don't know if whatever you get is worth enough to get it or not, while in Pikmin 3 any fruit helps.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

In that sense, yes, but it was originally going to be for the Wii. I don't mean it was rushed in terms of it not being in development for long enough, but for the fact that certain aspects were rushed. The failure to integrate all the colors into the game is just one example of this. Perhaps a better and more defendable example would be the gamepad controls. It was pretty universally agreed that the gamepad added very little and the wiimote was the more developed and definitive control scheme. I hated the gamepad controls, but couldn't get the Wiimote to work right. I have a new setup now, and the wiimote might work better now, so I do really want to try the game again. Believe me, I don't like badmouthing Pikmin, it has a special place for me. Rushed might have been a harsh thing to say though.

I'm surprised at how easily Pikmin 3 is dominating the poll; don't get me wrong, it's a deserved win in my book, I voted for it, I just thought the first two having nostalgia on their side would give them a boost.
