I'm a wii u owner but its likely watchdogs will be the worst version on wii u. Pointless even considering it. I know for this game the gamepad had a real chance to enhance it but ultimately if the main graphics chug along at a lower frame rate its not worth buying. It's likely based on the same or similar engine to both the wii u Assasin's Creed games which were done by the same developers as watchdogs wii u will be;

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-assassins-creed-4-next-gen-face-off

This is what the face off said about the wii u AC4 "it's hard to recommend the Wii U game at all, despite its image quality matching PS3 and Xbox 360.". If anything the second game performs worse than the first on wii u. AC4 is slightly more ambitious and struggles more with frame rate on 360 and PS3 and this effects the wii u even more. So a 20 to 40% drop in frame rate is far more significant as the frame rates are already low.

I applaud people's attempts to keep multiformat titles coming to wii u but this is a title that the wii u simply isn't capable of pulling off. If they start removing pedestrians or the skyline train or weather effects to keep the frame rate up it will destroy the immersion of the game. Better to push for wii u versions of games that could perform well on wii u. Does the wii u really need another title that highlights its low performance level.

This is the likely ranking of the various versions;

PS4
PC
(Wasn't sure which to put top there as often console games are more polished and convenient vs the higher performance level that only a small percentage of PC owners can benefit from)
Xbox One
Xbox 360
PS3
wii u

It should be a different situation compared to both Assassin's Creed games because those games had the 360 as the lead platform. The issues resulted from the Wii U having a completely different architecture. Last gen's console architectures are 'CPU heavy' with the CPUs doing the vast majority of the floating point work.

Watch Dogs has the PC as the lead platform as far as I remember and all 3 current gen consoles have 'GPU heavy' architectures. We should see the Wii U version doing fine, it was only due to brute force power that the PS4 and One SKUs of Assassin's Creed IV didn't have performance issues.

The Wii U version should perform okay, although obviously it's not going to be as pretty as the PS4/One/PC versions. However, if Ubisoft manage to implement the GamePad well into a game that's practically made for the controller it should be the definitive version.

Surely that's even worse for wii u. Your basically saying PC architecture versions ps4/pc/xbox one are lead platforms so its more likely 360, ps3 and wii u versions will be of lesser importance probably farmed out to lesser developers who have to folow in the main developers foot steps. When you move to pc architecture you have a serious increase in cpu performance as well as gpu performance.  I suspect Watchdogs will be cancelled on wii u but even if it isn't it will be the worst version. There is just too much happening on screen, too much physics, AI, etc. This is not a game that will perform well on wii u.

It's most likely this, actually.

PC > PS4 > Xbox One > Wii U > 360 > PS3

I won't disagree with the PC bit but the chances of the wii u version outperforming 360 and PS3 is unlikely. Outperforming ps3 is a remote possibility but 360 no way. This would go against all current games of a similar type that are on wii u. I'll admit there is a chance they can utilise the gamepad to enhance the game and then the lesser graphics of the main action screen won't seem so bad but I won't hold my breath. It's the same developer as AC3 and AC4 and if anything the wii u got worse for the second game. This time around the wii u is clearly struggling to sell and they aren't going to be motivated to do much optimising for wii u. I would definitely check out the eurogamer faceoff being purchasing that's assuming its coming out. I personally think its likely been cancelled on wii u.

Wii U version can easily outperform PS3/360, we know wii U's HW > ps3/360. Also it wasn't cancelled , stop saying bullshit, gamestop italy/usa already said that was an error... People can't accept that wii U is stronger than ps3/360, so much ignorance....

Most antecipated games: Mario Kart 8 and Warlords of Draenor.

I'm pretty excited for the game and only the Wii U version of it. I have high hopes for the controller integration and possibly some great graphics. If the Wii U version were cancelled, I wouldn't be buying this game at all. Glad to know it's alive and well. I'll be buying it on day one, for sure.

I actually thought the scare would hurt the game's sales and faith in Nintendo as a whole. I'm not upset to be wrong on this one. Hope it's fairly successful. Wii need more games like this on Nintendo's struggling platform.

I will purchase the Nintendo Wii U version of Watch Dogs!!! Support Nintendo!!!

Wow. You seriously think PS3 and 360 are more powerful than Wii U even when its been proven a fact to be more powerful. Your hate wrongs strong my friend.  Its like trying to convince people today the world is flat. we all know better but that isnt going to stop you from trying. That takes a level of dedication that most people do not have

I have all of em and there's no doubt in my mind that the Wii U is more powerful than the PS3 and Xbox 360 (without HDD installs, too!).  The thing is, almost nobody is trying to give the Wii U anything more than a quick port.   Doesn't matter how powerful it is or isn't if nobody is trying to take advantage of the power.

I've decided I'm going to buy this game. Assasins creed bored me and zombieU is about zombies (which I don't like) but Watchdogs look unique and fun and I like how you can play the whole game without shooting anybody!

I haven't preordered it yet but I may just do it to let them know to not cancel it!

But of course it is extremely presumptuous to say that it will be the same way with Watch Dogs given how long they have been working on it.  It could still happen, but there's really no evidence to say unless you are meaning that the Wii U is weaker than all the other systems.
