The Wii got away with being weaker because it was innovative and the concept was intriguing. Great, everyone misunderstood me! I don't mean overpowered as something bad.

The Wii U is certainly the opposite of a Wii. It could be called a piece of shit even! But sadly it has the games I want so I don't care if  the other console as better grass or something like that I just won't buy it.

That's not to say I will never get a PS4, it's just that it has no games I want... for now! I will probably get one at the end of this gen but right now, I'm happy with my 3DS and Wii U.

Whya re peopel buying ps4's then? Why not just play games on PS3?? The entire industry is driven by hardware saying it doesn;t matter is simply fantasy. Most of software sales were games that are on last gen...............

He got a point, if you want hardware, just get a decent pc. PC > any console that think it is powerful. Hardware doest not matter, Software matters, you answered the question with hypocrisy . You just said '' soo , we have exclusives for ps4'', that just shows hardware does not matter, and software does....


Its not just software matters and its a balance between hardware and software. We need good hardware for better software and to make them quickly instead of using more time to optimize in less powerful hardware and can creat more content.



GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

And the OP said you're delusional if you enjoy games that don't take advantage of newest hardware. So again i'll ask, what do those games matter? If you think hardware is the only thing that drives games why aren't you playing on a triple titan set up just strictly playing games on a 4k res?

Its not really about Nintendo being cheap, its about their obsession to revolutionalize.


They can easily revolutionize with more powerful hardware.

The Wii U gamepad with next gen specs would have probably given them the edge over the competition.

One problem, it would be priced much closer to an XB1 if not more. The Gamepad having zero latency would be nearly impossible with higher graphical output when optimized. The name and marketing plays a much more important role than specs. If the Wii U was called the Nintendo Ultra and advertised like crazy, there would be no confusion at all.

Way to twist my words to suit your arguement. When did I ever state that only hardware matters? I specifically said that games would be better if Nintendo devs had better hardware to work with. Look at WWHD. The guy who made it said he was happy to work with better hardware so that he can load the entire sea at once instead of slowing the boat down so you don't fall off the map like on the GC. Even devs themselves they would rather work with better hardware.

LMAO no Consoles are cheap in comparison to PC and many simply don't want to play on PC or have the know how..........That logic makes no sense....Agsain ifg hardware didnt mattered why are we not playing on NES, Atari, Sega genesis?

rofl, you can build a decent pc, way better than ps4 by a good price. If you had the same ps4 exclusives games on PC, what would you choice? better graphics of course, PC. Making a comparison of this topic to NES,Atari , etc makes no sense...The fact is, software leads the hardware, in this case, software matters , not the hardware....

EDIT: I often hear arguements like "it's not the hardware it's what you do with it" which is so fucking stupid and backwards and only said to damage control for Nintendo when the only reason Nintendo makes underpowered systems is to generate more profit

I never said it was only hardware dont put words in my mouth but the PC is a typical strawman argument. Hardware and software matter.

 

Op never said ONLY hardware matters, you are twisting his words.,

 

PC has a high cost of entry, many people simply dont have the knowledge to play games on PC and simply dont like playing games on them.
