Forums - Nintendo - MARIO KART 8 - Wii U! Who want to buy this in March?

Yeah, Mario Kart 8 is the only definite purchase from the known 2014 games.
MKWii Tournaments were fun here, so I'd be sure to join on that too this gen.

What I am not too sure from the MK8 footage is the infinite track and use of gravity. When you use the anti-gravity sections on wall you are on the left or right of your screen... but in that infinite track the camera is always following you, and even though when you are upside down you are at the bottom of the screen. I'd sure love to have an option to turn off the camera following you or at least a "mirror"-mode on a few selected tracks. I'm sure that infinite level is much more impactful if you play it without the camera aid!

Spring 2014 release, so technically it can still release in March....the 10-ish days before the end of the fiscal year. And yeah, I'm ready for some Mario Kart!

I get your idea, but the total disorientation that would occur with a vast majority of players if you were on the left wall and had to push down on the joystick to move "right" on the left wall would seriously cause reviews for this game to plummet...

It wasn't a problem in the Galaxy games.... but that's why I said to add it as an option, let's rename it that to "gravity-mode".

Because in the Galaxy games, it was exploration.  In Mario Kart 8, you're RACING, or in other words, competing against others (whether CPU or human).  In a competitive environment, something like what I just described can lead to far greater levels of frustration.  In Galaxy, you have time to figure it out, and adjust with no pressure to perform admirably.

Frustration is also condensed in Rainbow Road. Anyways, I agree it's too hard to force everyone to do it, but at least have it as an option.
