One major reason why TLOU doesn't deserve it; GAMEPLAY. Its not horrible, but it clearly and afterthought. The stealth elements are quite possible the worst in video game history. Inexcusable lack of consistency in the design. Gunplay is also sloppy, but understandable given the material and characters.

In terms of the ''resonate'' sentence. Thats simply down to playstation fan presence on websites, fansites and blogs.

People have compared TLOU to MGS4 and I agree entirely on this. In a few years, people will look back on how bad the gameplay actually was and watch it disappear from the ''top 10 games'' lists.

No, the gameplay in TLOU is amazing, it doesnt get much mroe gamey.....Third person stealth, shooting brutal dynamic melee combat. Not 1 review complained about gameplay for a reason. It is a timeless classic whether you like to admit it or not. 1 hour of the game is story (And its amazing) the rest is pure gameplay. Sounds liek your upset a ps exclusive is getting mass acclaim.  A few years from now we will look at your post and laugh.

You say things without backing them up, how is gumplay sloppy? How is level design inconsistent? Gunplay was fantastic, every bullet mattered, one shot and you get knocked back always vunerable.

Sorry, but the game does not deserve all that praise.

I see no review mentioning the repetitiveness of wave after wave of enemies to kill or how unsactisfactory the stealth is because, just like the batman series, once you do a stealth kill everybody is alerted to your presence regardless.
I'm playing the game atm and i can say those aspects bug me. Its a good game, but its not this super flawless game some people want to pass it as.

This game is nowhere near the innovative levels of other similarly rated games like Zelda OOT, Mario 64, GTA3, Soul calibur, etc.

Sounds like you're not very stealthy.

I dont know what you are on about. I love stealth games. I just dont love it when stealth doesnt work cause the big bad guy has a heartbeat reader.

The excuse isnt there on TLOU even. I choke some guy stealthly and everyone 2 rooms down hears it. Yeah... really nice stealth gameplay there.

I'm sorry but this is simply not true, this has nothing to do with opinion or anything it's just false. I played the whole game on Survivor trying to preserve as much of my resources as possible thus for large portions of the game having to rely on stealth, so I like to imagine that I know a thing or two about how the stealth in TLOU works.

Well, from my point of view, you are lying cause it definitly did, more than a few times. Maybe its a bug, but thats how it goes on normal. Maybe its one of those changes from the Euro to the US version, i dunno. Fact is it happens and it ruins my fun with the game. You can claim im lying all you want, it wont change the fact that it happened and am unhappy about it.

I tried to change the difficulty to easy and it didnt seem to happen. I get flooded with items in that difficulty wich ruins the micro-management but alas... if it makes the stealth work, at least it doesnt agravate me and i can enjoy the game.

Seriously though, if you're gonna accuse someone of lying you should at least have a motive. What motive would i have to lie? Do you see me hating on Sony games often or something? I still said the game is good despite that. I just dont agree that its perfect or better than other genre moving games.

Then I can just repeat what the-pi-guy said, this sounds more like a problem with your playstyle than with the game, maybe you think you're stealthier than you actually are, cause I can assure you that it is perfectly possible to play alot of TLOU' sequences stealthily.

Also I didn't say you were lying, I said what you claimed was wrong, again you might just be misjudging how stealthy you really are. And I'm not trying to make this into a console war thing, I just don't like misinformation being spread about one of my favourite games (deliberately or not).

Well, its not misinformation if its real. The fact is it happened to me almost every time. Maybe i am using stealth techniques from other games that dont work here, though i dont understand why not (if theres a reason the game should be able  to tell me what im doing wrong). I am more inclined to think its this game and not the others that have a problem, since the same problem already appeared on the Batman games as a clear design choice.  But oh well... you're making it sound like im bashing the game, but im just giving my honest opinion.

This is my experience and theres nothing we can do about it. But i will grant you that the problem doesnt seem to happen on easy. I have not tried other difficulty levels. Its just weird the way it behaves on normal.

Wow, now that's a waterproof argument if I've ever seen one. "There's a huge amount of better games", great, not only is that an opinion but I would also bet that you have never even played TLOU, so that whole point is completely moot. I might just as well say, that there is no better game than TLOU and you know what? That point would be just as valid as yours while saying something completely different, magical how opinions work, right?

And just so you know, every "offense" or "provocation" you get thrown at yourself, you have only yourself to blame for, what goes around comes around.

refrain from talking to me if this is the "best" you can do.

Wow, thanks for completely proving my point, this one sentence shows clear as day why people treat you the way they do.

But anyway, I'll just take this as a "I have nothing to counter your argument" ;)

TLoU is a great game. Period. Best game of 2013? Yes. No doubt. Best game ever? Not even close.

and before some users quote to say things like: well you are Nintendo game blá blá blá, I have a every PS console (except Vita, because you know... is Vita)

TLoU is the best game of its kind, comparing it to lets say a platformer with no story or a racing game would be pointless. Its the evolution of gaming, thus one of the best games ever.

Vita has one of the highest satisfaction ratings of any console. Everyone that buys one loves it, just not enought people are buying them.
