It was a figure of speech.

Look Microsoft werent to blame on this occasion. Thats all there is to it. It wasnt Microsofts contract. We havent seen the contract between Microsoft and Machinima. The one posted online is between Machinima and their Content Providers. Im absolutely sure Microsoft push the boundries like any company. But this whole fiasco with the youtube thing was crazy stupid. It helps for people to have all the facts first.

Its not that hard to understand. Microsoft didnt come out defending themselves. Machinima came out and was honest and said it was their contract between them and their Content Providers. Why would Microsoft be involved in another companies contracts?

The question how did microsoft not know about 'the other companies contracts' that benefited MS more than the 'other company'

we will never know for a fact, but I dont believe it for a second that machinima acted in the interest of MS without them knowing or benefiting in any way from it.

Lol, I am a microsoft fan?  Well, I do like xbox and will get an xbox one, but the x1 is also the only new system I dont own.  I am a fan of all three companies, or more specifically, I am a fan of gaming.  So while true that you could say I am a ms fan, I just think it is funny that I am being cast as just a ms fan.  Especially since the x1 will be the last system i buy this gen.

Not sure why anyone thinks Machinima would just lay down on a grenade for MS. They are a big streaming company, this damages their reputation and credibility far more than it would have MS. With MS the reaction was negative, but it was negative from people who are negative towards MS in the first place. With Machinima though, if I were an avid watcher of their videos, now I would wonder how many other deals they have set up where they don't require the provider to disclaim that it's paid promotional work.
