Forums - Gaming - Lightning Returns Demo is up!!!

2GB file taking me 40 minutes it's saying. Looks like the armors of Lightnings become kind of like a FFV jobs in that they relate to the skills you can use in battle. They call these schema's example Heartstealer (on the right) is Locke's (FF6) clothes, or Yuna' Summoner Robe (on the left) from FFX. See this is what you need, take old stuff and update it. Make it sexy af. Not remake old games imo.

Seems you have to choose each and every attack now, so that should make a lot of people happy! Well I'm going to watch some of the Demo now on Youtube and play it all day today xD. Try it out guys if you have a PS360!

Here's a Garbs Wiki it might have them all listed I'm not sure. Link http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Lightning_Returns:_Final_Fantasy_XIII_Garbs

Imma pass on the demo, I know I want it already so no point spoiling part of the game.

It runs in 1080p on the PS3 so everybody knows. I checked it on my HDTV. :)

I already played the demo called "japanese import"

Well it's a very quick Demo takes about 15 minutes in game battle I'd say with 15 Minutes of cinematics.

The battle system is really different. It's almost like a Bayonetta 1 game but with RPG elements. There's far more strategy in the combat of your attaks/combinations than in Bayonetta. + the 3 different schema's to alternate/choose from which you will to better deal with Monsters weaknesses faster to exploit with. In Bayonetta you get punch and kick and in this you get usually 3 attacks and 1 defense, seems certain combinations of attacks lead to staggers and there's also an overdrive attack for even more damage.

I like what they've done here and I like this whole trilogy because of the variations in battle systems. The graphics and cinematics are amazing and I can't imagine how fantastic FFXV will look on the PS4, but this game looks AMAZING. I just hope they don't try any microtransaction insanity with the costumes/garbs/schemas. Other than that I'm 100% psyched for this game to launch. Eat your heart out haters ^,-!!

The whole thing?

I wouldn't do that because I won't get the full experience. I would have no idea what the characters were saying the whole time. P: Unless the Japanese version has English subtitles which I highly doubt?

Feb 11, 2014 is not far away anyhow.

free dlc with the demo is a nice bonus.

Not the whole but the first few hours. Until I realized that it's still just too hard for me. I've been learning Japanese now for a few years but LR is just too strategic and text heavy to grasp it all. Especially with the heavy quest focus and new vocabulary and completely new features. The dialogues with Japanese subtitles are quite easy to follow but the walls of text explaining quests and the new combat system and time travel are a bit much. Sure with some diligence I could've pushed through but that would've ended in more work than fun.
For example I had no trouble playing through the japanese XIII-2 in whole before it released in Europe.

From what I've experienced I'm not a big fan of the new combat system.

Oh I've read if you buy this game in the first 2 weeks after Valetines day you'll get free DLC that also has the Japanese voices and I'm assuming english subtitles for a more "localized gaming expereince"

I really like the whole open world design with the monorail. The 1 on 1 type of combat is different, and interesting I think. That's what I always felt was missing from FF1->FF4->FF6->FF7 was that the battles system was always so much of the same. I really like this guys adventurous spirit in always evolving for the FFXIII Trilogy. It's exactly what I've wanted in this series. I stopped after FF7 because I felt the battle system was so damn redundant, and FFXIII breathed in so much NEW life. I just love it! If they're pissing off 20 forum dwellers and a million hipsters IDC they're making me so freaking happy!! I don't need old experiences I need NEW ONES like this game has! I don't need no old slow ass battle system. I need something EXCITING! I'm just so excited for another fresh take, and the conclusion of this legendary game trilogy. I can't be more pleased. It look like they're possibly taking to some platforming ideas also which is defferent.
