A very real possibility when the new SKU comes in using different internal hardware (solution to the existing component source issue)

Did I stutter or sound unsure in this post to you?

What, the thing with Sony buying one of the chipset manufacturers? I doubt such a subtle change would cause a stir at the retail level.

Not on it's own no, but combine it with an internal redesign to reduce per-unit production costs and allow for a price drop without badly impacting profit margins, and an excuse to release additional colors and new bundles and you have yourself all the reason you need.

Revised (different layout) base plastics for the WiiU console are also in the hands of a few of their manufacturing plants, despite there being no actual new motherboard to reflect this base plastics mold change, obviously a change is afoot, wether or not they add additional internal storage or not remains to be seen but as things stand right now, by, or at E3, a revised, lower cost WiiU will be on the market, I highly doubt the external styling will have changed much if at all, but internally it will have, and you will see that reflected in the lower price point.

Maybe a new sku or some retailers still confused about the difference between wii and wii u as wii recently ended production in japan.

As others have said, it's likely just a misunderstanding. No way is the U going anywhere anytime soon.

I don't think so, anyway. I hope not!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Of course they're not stopping production.

It's just the end of that particular sku and a new model/bundle will be introduced. I think this is painfully obvious I'm a little surprised so many people are even considering that this is the end of the Wii U. Also this is somewhat shady business practices. Knowing full well the wording of the sign would cause a little bit of confusion and stir up controversy. Massively big to pull attention towards their store and those Wii U's on the shelf. As if you buy it now or it's gone forever.

Or maybe not. I could be wrong. I guess that's just how I interpreted the entire thing.

Edit: one more thing that is kinda funny and ironic. The title of this thread was ironic in that it was also just click bait to try to draw free traffic to this post. A purposely diceptive title. Someone else said they felt clicked baited... I think it's because in a way we all were.

They're just making way for better bundles which is nothing major. The Wii U is not dead.

Lost in translation.....

I can see in the background that the store is getting ready for the launch of the PS4 lol.
