Forums - Microsoft - Phil Spencer Wants To Try And Keep Gears Of War As An Xbox Exclusive

I still wont buy it. Next Unreal Tournament is the only game I will buy from them.

True, but I don't think it would cost as much as you're implying, and if it has a big effect on install base like Gears did for the 360 then I don't see how it wouldn't be worth it.

epic has been at Sonys confrences. Sony has treated epic well by allowing them to display their tech with Ps4 and ps3 considering UE is most of their profit. Sony allowed mods in UT3 which is why it wasnt on the 360. And now, Ps4 > XB1. At the very least if I were epic I wouldnt make it exclusive for anyghing less than full development funding and advertising. Definitly more that 100m

This would not be a surprise. I think MS fans know this always had a chance to go multi. Deep down they knew. Didnt/dont want it to but still knew the chace.
Now FF tho. Pretty sure no one thought that was leaving.

Nah. If the PS4 proves to be a much more successful console than the XBone, Epic would be crazy to keep any of their IPs exclusive. I honestly see no reason why the Gears series wouldn't make a great addition to the PS4 library. Hell, why not d a collection release for the first 3 on PS4, since MS technically doesn't own those.

what's more interesting though is that the topic is even being brought up by Spencer. Could this be a sign that a Gears title is in fact in development at Epic?

I cant wait to pre order ff15 and kingdom hearts on my x1 onces its announced to be multiplat .... oh wait its already been announced and already pre ordered:)

Two GoWs on one system doesn't make sense people

I think the fact he is actually saying this means hes pretty confident in doing so. Would be great from the perspective that Epic could take advantage of all Xbox Ones different architecture and functionality.

Has Epic committed to more Gears? I thought it was Cliff's baby, so with Cliff not at Epic any more do they have the enthusiasm for it or have they looked at GeoW:J sales and decided something new but equally epic is the way to go?

I didn't realise Judgement has such low sales. It's kind of worse than God of War: Ascension for the GoW franchise.

But if I was Phil I'd want to keep Gears on Xbox too, even with Judgement being a bit of a sales disappointment.
