No it won't.  Monster Hunter Frontier not only requires a monthly fee, but it's supposedly the worst in the series.  It's also on the Xbox 360 and PC right now.  When it's ported to the Vita it'll also be on the PS3 and the Wii U.  

So a game that requires a monthly fee, is a port that's on five systems, compared to an exclusive that requires no monthly fee.  I'd say the Vita is being set up for failure.

I thought all Monster Hunter games required a monthly fee in Japan.

Maybe. But one thing is right, Vita sales would skyrocket

If people want to keep good support from Capcom for the Vita they have to buy the game, because otherwise it is clear that Capcom has no market on the system.


Where was this good support for the platform that we would be keeping by purchasing this steaming pile?

Only Tri and Frontier I thought.  I tried Googling other games, but I can't find any source that says anything but Frontier.

Found this one that points out that Frontier and Tri are subscription based, but it doesn't say if none of the others are.  Still no evidence if they are, though.

Quoting again.  Found out some other stuff as well.  Not only does Monster Hunter Frontier G have a monthly fee, but it's also free to download on the PS3, Vita, and Wii U.  There's no cost unless you purchase a physical copy, so that will kill off most physical sales, so we won't even be able to gauge whether it's doing good or not.

Additionally, this. 

"Frontier G is a subscription-based MMO that won’t have all the content seen in the upcoming PS3 version, but will have several of the worlds."

So not only is there five different versions of the game, the Vita version isn't even going to include all the content.  Like I said previously.  Vita version is being set up for failure.

Seriously though as much as it'll do well on vita (a million seller imo) its fanbase is heavily on 3DS right now. 3.6mil+ counting

It's like you're saying Monster Hunter isn't popular enough in Japan to make people buy a console for just that game.  Oh wait.  The 3DS sales had a massive boost in Japan each time a Monster Hunter game released on it.  From that, I'd say if one was released on the Vita, an exclusive, not yet another port, I'd say the same would happen.  The Vita would have massive week on week sales.

I'm just saying.  The 3DS weekly sales boost after their release just proves that it doesn't matter if the fanbase is on one console or another.  The game will sell systems.

Also pointing out sales that Monster Hunter 3 on PSP is much higher than Monster Hunter 3 on the 3DS.  Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on PSP is much higher than Monster Hunter 4.  Going by sales It's possible that there are also some fans of Monster Hunter that won't purchase the 3DS versions.  So there's a small possibility that it'd sell better on the Vita.


It wont sell better on vita, i understand where your coming from but MH4 sold more than the entire Vita userbase.

It won't be more successful BUT it will be a system seller so it'll help boost sales of Vita guaranteed.

Oh of course, I think Vita can do 200k+ for a MH5 is easily a possibility.

I just dont kno why people get mad and compare it to PSP+3DS best selling MH. SOME People think a vita MH would outsell MH4. That logic doesn't make sense but wateves!

Not worrying about comparison sales a new MH would easily sell 1mil+ lifetime on the vita.

I could only see that happening if they were to do a PS4/PSV game (which I actually think is fairly likely), not a PSV exclusive

The PSV version wouldn't sell more than MH4 on 3DS though
