Neither is assuming PS4 would have outsold the XB1 in NA if there was more supply, but for some reason people are treating it as such.

It may not be 100% fact but when one is constantly sold out and the other is not with a gap of less than 100,000 and both consoles approaching 1 million in sales for the time period, then it becomes a reasonable conclusion. Especially when the large week 3 shipment of PS4's sold out and put it over the X1 for that week.

That's common sense.
The other is...
Sorry if I am repeating info but according to this (http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=220586) Dec 2013 was Wii U's best month ever. And last Dec it sold over 500K...so is Wii U massively undertracked or am I screwing something up along the way?
Sony should be confident telling the selling numbers of PS4 even when they don't win the month, it will be more elegant and a sign of confidence that you will do better next time. This way, you just look like a bad loser...
And respecting Xbox One numbers, it's like Microsoft knew the number of shipments of PS4, and decided to outship them just enough to beat PS4 and claim victory. If I was Microsoft i will do the same too, even if this means not shipping enough in other markets like UK...
Seeing the disparity of Xbox One sold in USA and the rest of the world, is obvious Microsoft will do whatever they can to at least be tied with PS4 in USA.

Best Wii U NPD was 460k.

Sony didn't share even when they won.
Hahaha. You guys talking about spin.
These are the December NPD results. Sony is using November numbers to make their December look better than it was.
Imagine if Nintendo's press release for November said the Wii U is still the best-selling next-gen console LTD... we all would have been laughing our asses off.

Should be undertracked by at least 100K.
