Forums - Nintendo - Please Understand, still no TVii in Europe

It was said to launch in 2013, its 2014 already and nowhere to be found. Nintendo loves to apologize and it is currently shown publicly in its website.

We would like to apologise that we were unable to bring the Nintendo TVii service to Europe in 2013 as originally planned.

Please continue to keep an eye out for further announcements regarding this service in the near future.

What is TVii exactly? To me it's just an OS icon that gives an error when executed.

I gather we're not missing much.

even though I don't watch TV they should have had it up a while ago

but things aren't always as easy as one thinks they are

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

They do have a handicap compared to the US, as there is no universal VOD service in Europe and talking to each countries content providers must be mayhem.

Yeah, I used to look out for it optimistically but I've kinda just given up now.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I've never had faith in this service in Europe, and time just proves me.

Don't expect any new announcements, besides the "no new announcements" one for this service in Europe.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Its not like Xbox one also has all their sports and TV thingies working in europe aswell.

Its more difficult to get these things working in europe cause it requires permits and licensing and several different countries. Its not an easy task.

Yeah they got bigger things to worry about than TVii, this missing service is not the reason for poor EU sales. Just picked up my 3DS and am loving the nintendo games, just get the price down on that Wii U and i may pick one up.

Way to miss a key feature that makes the gamepad worthwhile in the region you struggle the most in.

I honestly don't care, i don't buy consoles to watch TV
