I think a lot of people are misinterpreting or choosing to misrepresent what he actually said.
NeoGaf is pro Sony to the point where negative rumors about anything Microsoft can be made up, accepted as fact, and then a 100 page thread of circle jerking ensues. I don't know why he would choose to talk about, what is in effect, a Microsoft exclusive game on that site. The responses he was going to get were predictable.
He's just saying he doesn't have a scripted single-player set-piece to use for promoting the game because it is MP only. God forbid if he did cobble together a scripted set-piece for his game as people would then be complaining about it not being representative and calling bullshots.

Starhawk had a SP and it sucked. Just like the MP.... And the pricks said it was a spiritual successor to warhawk.

Which is more evidence that the market is not waiting for MP games only. Some were advacating all games to be MP only, which is based on nothing.
