2013 Hardware Chart UK
3DS (including 2DS, XL) - up 4 per cent
Xbox 360 - down 30.7 per cent
PS4
PS3 - down 31 per cent
Xbox One
Vita - down 41 per cent
Wii U - up 41.5 per cent
Wii - down 72 per cent

 

Looking just at 2012's figures, Wii U was out-performed even by PlayStation Vita, despite Sony's struggling handheld itself falling 41.5 per cent in sales compared to 2012.

In total, 2013 hardware sales were up 5 per cent on 2012 (although 38 per cent in revenue) thanks to the launch of PS4 and Xbox One.

The two next-gen consoles accounted for around a third of all hardware bought last year - even though they only launched in November.

I'm sorry but those numbers don't add up.

I saw somewhere that the PS4 outsold the 360 last year (albeit only slightly), this on the other hand indicates that the 360 sold alot more than the PS4 and that we have it undertracked by more than 100k here. Same for the PS3 (of course only if last years numbers are correct)

This news seems fishy.

The source was misinterpreted. They corrected their release a few days ago. NeoGaf also changed their thread title.

PS4 had a greater revenue, due being more expencive than the 360. So, less consoles sold but with a higher price.
