I liked it, i haven't finished it yet but i plan on going back to it. I do agree that the pacing is off though.

I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy it, but at the same time I think it's over rated. The gameplay is nowhere near as good as people make it out to be. Soo utterly easy with no thought processing.
Not sure how you can praise Tales' battle system and then rip on Ni No Kuni when they're basically the same. Outside of a few bosses Tales can easily be a *just hit attack* kind of game if you wanted it to be.
I do agree about the AI though. They need to add some customization.

It's all about the game.
I am currently playing through the game and I agree that the battle system is the main detrimental factor in the game. It is simply poorly designed with the A.I. failing to help you in any significant way on most of the boss battles. The game is still an enjoyable experience overall though for me personally and is still one of my favorite games of 2013.
Top 10 Games of All Time
1. The Last of Us, 2. Journey, 3. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, 4. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, 5. Bioshock Infinite, 6. Zelda: Twilight Princess, 7. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, 8. Super Smash Bros. Brawl, 9. Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword, 10. Starcraft
Add me on PSN. Thanks.
Yeah, I have to agree with the OP. It's a beautiful looking game, so it's a shame it gets boring rather quickly. I found the dialogue is too childish and lacks personality.

A mix of this and the fact I didn't think it was really that well paced or a really good story. Reminded me why I hate DQVIII.

I didn't like the story (which was quite dissapointing for me since it is ghibli), or battle system.
The world and music was beautiful though. The world map was awesome, probably the best world map I've ever seen.
I still consider it an ok game (6/10), though. Because it's fun to look at and listen to and thats enough for me.
Xenoblade, and Xillia and quite of other JRPG's I thought were a lot better games.
I hated ni no kuni and I generally like rpg's a lot. To me, the only good thing about this game was the graphics...
I only played the demo and thought it was awesome. The presentation seemed flawless to me, and I had fun with the battle system.
But again, I only played the demo. I'm somewhat afraid of not liking it when I buy it.

I loved it, its on my top 10 JRPGs of all time to tell you the truth (okay i admit it, I dont realy know what my top 10 JRPGs of all time are, would probably include things like FF VII, SMT Digital Devil Saga and Rogue Galaxy but I figure thered be a spot open for Ni No Kuni somewhere).
