I... don't think they're allowed to lie to their investors like this. And I don't believe they would do, especially since there's so little to gain from it other than a bit of epeen and some slight damage control.

I doubt any court would take them to task for being off by less than 10%. I'm sure you can fudge a little about your numbers without having to worry about litigation. Now if they had sold 1m and said 3m, then that would be a problem for them.

I get that a lot of the rumours have been wrong coming from GAF but most of those negative MS rumours came from CBOAT...who had a pretty good insider track record prior to this year. That comment would be better suited for him...although it seems like hes only been trolling the last year. Otherwise hes had a near 100% track record on GAF..compared to other guys like Thuway who has been banned multiple times for leaking wrong info XD

Thuway, FM and CBOAT, all as bad as each other imo :) I'm not saying they don't catch on somtimes, they obviously do.

My issues is with people blindly beliving these people.

I'm shocked to see he has another wishy washy comment that can neither be proven or debunked as FUD. Even shocked to see that, of course, some here just knew it all along and this is such a travesty because I like totally saw 5 Xbones at Target so their numbers must clearly be off by 200k or so.

There is literally not one logical reason for MS to do this.

We just had a discussion about this just a few weeks ago. Everything is an estimate. Is saying 2.9 million sold through vs 3.0 million sold through that big of a leap? And it's not as if their numbers are 100% accurate to begin with. They might've actually sold over 3 mil...

Now if they SHIPPED 3 mil and said they sold through 3 mil, than that's another issue; because they're assuming they sold out their stock (which many have been quick to point out isn't the case).

We don't know anything yet and shouldn't treat this like we do.

This is 2 years old and MS did not lie back then either. ethomaz had one of his crazy conspiracy theories back then as well... and he was proven wrong, but kept grasping for straws. Just like he does now with the yield issues everybody is waiting for to kick in.
