While I respect other peoples opinions, Ocarina of Time is probably my least favorite Zelda game.

It will probably never happen, and even less nowadays with the whole console wars thing where a game gets attacked just for the fact that is a exclusive or multiplat, (see GTAV, it's a great game that is getting hate only because it's stealing spotlight from the last of us) even OoT itself gets a lot of hate lately because it's a nintendo exclusive

I don't think there is enough faith in this thread that game developers can deliver anymore, there were a lot of bad games the past couple of years but also some true masterpieces as well.

It would still take at least another 10 years before a game reaches the insane nostalgia boost OOT has.

It'll never be agreed upon. Ocarina of Time obviously would get a lot of votes as best game ever, but even that's not agreed upon. You could make the case for a lot of games.

I get that OOT is a solid game in every aspect but it's so overrated it's ridiculous and it's only going to get worse as time passes and people get more nostalgic.
OOT was cool but I prefer TP.

I'm trying to say that devs are definitely producing masterpieces, they're not not producing masterpieces that are also as revolutionary as OOT.  And there's nothing wrong with that.  It's sort of like how no band will ever be as popular as The Beatles, because we're at a time where mixing genres and experimenting is the norm.  There just isn't enough room left to trail blaze like they did.  But that doesn't mean great music isn't being produced today.

GTAV also gets a lot of hate for not only failing to break the mold created by San Andreas, it failed to even fill it.
