It's not.  3D World sold a lot of Wii U's over the holiday.  More than a few hundred thousand.

It's not.  3D World sold a lot of Wii U's over the holiday.  More than a few hundred thousand.

Eh we really have no way to determine that. It was the holidays remember? WiiU only sold 1.5m~ total over the holidays.

The Wii U had one week in October where its sales spiked and that was because of Zelda HD.

Also I see Zero is up to his usual predictions again, around 2mil this quarter because of some magical momentum (aka actually still pretty mediocre holiday sales) and DK... sounds reasonable :D

How much do u think it will ship this quarter? And why?

this quarter? around 2M, maybe more if mario kart releases in late march. beacuse this january seems to have better momentum than the last one. wii fit may help too but it's mostly because of the spyke donkey kong will cause.

Another excellent prediction from Zero. You actually expect Q1 to match holiday sales with Donkey Kong alone. Doesn't the fact that all your other WiiU predictions failed spectacularly make you want to rethink this one? Oh why am I even asking, of course it doesn't.

Nintendo's games tend to chart well over the long haul. Have you seen how many weeks the New Super Mario Bros. series and original Mario Kart Wii has charted in the top 100? DKC returns had a comparably long run too. There's enough high-quality 1st party Wii U games to keep the baseline hardware sales higher than what they were in 2013, especially when you add in Wii Fit U and DKC Tropical Freeze and speculation about MK8 and SSB (whenever they come out). There's been a quite a surge of interest in the Wonderful 101 following its price cut too.

I think the fiscal year end will put the numbers about even. In the spring, folks in the US have their tax return. Wii U is now better differentiated positioned as a "value" option compared to PS4/Xone whereas last year it was this oddly-high priced Wii/Xbox360 clone. It'll top all the kids' birthday lists this year.



I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Ugh dude you've shown you can't accurately predict WiiU sales so stop calling out others. DK is not going to shift hundred of thousands of consoles and other than that there is no other SW that will sell systems.

hide behind personal attacks all you want, this won't make your prediction look any better.

You need thicker skin if you think that was a personal attack.

I thought Wii U was a great value over the holidays with the bundles, but that didn't stop it from producing somewhat poor sales...

I think the 3DS is far more desired by kids than the Wii U, though I can only base this thought on: A. Co-workers with kids... and B. My younger cousins.

The Wii U is only going to sell to the Nintendo faithful meaning that games people think are system sellers will turn out not to be. Donkey Kong will be just another week for wii U sales, maybe a bump of like 30ish% in each territory...but thats it.
