Vita will keep its lead; it will go on to be a great success in Japan, which together with its head start will give it the edge.
I think WiiU will outsell Vita on the launch of Summer but Vita will finish ahead the gen.

Are we talking Worldwide sales here?? Think I will take Vita's side on this one. It has many unique and interesting IPs releasing in 2014, especially in Japan. The NA market is practically dead unless remote play becomes big, EU is going strong and will hopefully continue that way this year, Japan just saw a huge rise in Vita sales in 2013 and is looking at doing similar things this year with an impressive library of games. As for WiiU you can talk up Smash Bros, Mario Kart etc. but how well did GCN sell. Nintendo wont break 30mil without some serious support and soon.
In case your wondering I expect both consoles here to be close in sales between 25-35 millionish range lifetime
The Vita will probably stay ahead of the Wii U, but I don't really see why it matters though since one is a home console and the other is a handheld...

true true, what I mean is that these core Nintendo games wont garentee a console to sell say 50mil etc.

Wii U's chance to sell 50m went out the window when they let their console fall into a game drought right out of the gate and earned the Wii U the reputation as a console with "no gaems". If they play their cards right though, it can still pass 30m. That said, they haven't been playing their cards right for three years now...

ah the NO GAEMZ, both Vita and WiiU are stuck with that for life no matter how many amazing games they recieve =(

50 mil is still certainly possible.
What if next year instead of announcing a new system they announce a new add on that revolutionizes the way we play games and brings aboard casuals and the core alike?
