Indeed, and that Vita outsold Wii U is definitely not up for debate, however Wii U was overpriced and had no noteworthy games in 2013, save for Mario 3D World at the very end of the year, plus Pikmin 3 and a Zelda re-release to a very small extent.

This year alone, Wii U is getting Donkey Kong Country, Wii Fit, Mario Kart, Smash Bros. Bayonetta 2, Yarn Yoshi, X, Wii Sports Club expansions and Hyrule Warriors, plus 3rd party stuff like Watch_Dogs, Project Cars, Just Dance, COD, Skylanders and whatnot. On top of this a truckload of indie and retro Virtual Console games, and whatever will undoubtedly be unveiled later. Also, it's cheaper now than it was for most of 2013. Pray tell, whatever noteworthy does Vita have coming in 2014 and beyond, that will compare to this and move systems...?

Nah, the Wii U is a home console that Nintendo will show support for and provide games. Vita on the other ahnd has been pretty much dropped by Sony. Such a shame really.

Wow you're right, 3.001 million for Wii U vs 3.024 for Vita. That's hilarious.

Even if the Vita does really well this year compared to last, lets say 4.5 million,  the software lineup for Nintendo alone is going to move no less then 8 million, and that would put the Wii U atleast 2 million ahead.   If Rockstar drops a GTA for Vita then its a whole new ballgame but without that, its the same as Nintendo not having Mario Kart. 

If it can't outsell Vita in 2014, then never will. My bet is that Vita will win lifetime thanks to better legs of Sony's systems though.

The Vita outsold the WiiU not because it had good sales but because the WiiU had abominable sales.
There are good signs that the WiiU will sell a lot more this year. There are small to none signs that the Vita will be doing well.

So yeah, put me up for WiiU will outsell Vita this year.

However there is always the possibility for the super PS4/Vita Bunduru.

Vita is still ahead by 2 million. It can be outsold by a healthy amount next year and still not get passed.

On the noteworthy side of things, does it even need that? I mean Vita's lineup for 2013 was horrible and it still beat the wii u. Nintendo fans always talk about how bad it was for their system, but do they even realize that the first big Vita game of 2013 came out in September? Now that is horrible. Lets compare Vita and Wii U's lineups for last year. Going by America releases.

If I just went by exclusives, it'd be 9 Wii U games verse 3 vita games. By your definition of noteworthy, the vita had zero games. Things are a little bit better in Japan, but that's really not something I know about.

This year the Vita is getting sequels to both Gravity Rush and Soul Sacrifice, as well as Freedom Wars. Might do good in Japan but again no notable western releases. What it does have however in the west is Vita. TV and remote play. Those could potentially cause a lot of sales.

Who knows but if the rumor of a true pokemon game on wiiu is right I'll get one

Wii U will most probably be selling more than Vita, but it will also be killed much earlier, so LT Vita should be able to sell more even after falling behind at some point.
