I'm not sure if anyone thinks this or not, so I made this thread.

I would say Wii U will outsell Vita. Wii U's ahead if you compare Wii U and Vita week on week by about 900k

Wii U - 5,249,664 = 5.3 million (Only 336 sales away from when VGChartz would say 5.3, so I just put 5.3)

Vita at the same point - 4,351,743 = 4.4 million

Depends how good Vita really is selling in Europe.

It will outsell... There are no key games coming out for the vita but there are tons of key games coming out for the wiiU in 2014

I think it will pass it in 2014 thanks to Mario Kart and Smash along with more price drops, and will stay past them in 2015, but I think lifetime sales will favor the Vita. I see it selling for longer/being supported longer and having a much larger library.

It's hard to compare the numbers since they launched at different times, but here are some aligned stats.

USA 58 weeks

Wii U: 2 million

PSVita: 1.3 million

Europe 57 weeks

Wii U: 1.1 million

PSVita:  1.6 million

Japan 56 weeks

Wii U: 1.5 million

Vita: 1.6 million

Again though this isn't a 1 to 1 comparison since they launched at different times. A different comparison is looking at their numbers post launch. April to Dec Vita did 2.629 million. Wii U did 2.356 million

Wii U seems to be going into its second year with a lot more promise than the Vita did, but launches aligned so far the Vita has actually performed much better.

The bigger question is, will Wii-U pass V-Tech? They both play games, right?

The Vita is this generations Game Gear. Its a portable build on a library of 1st party titles that no one wants and 3rd party ports of games from consoles. I ussually buy all the consoles I dont own late in the gen when they are cheap but the Vita has next to nothing I want to play, and its sad because the PSP was a pretty solid console.

I hear a lot of great things about Vita's software in 2014, but nothing has been shown at all. At least Wii U has a few big exclusives announced. The only really big games announced for Vita are Borderlands 2 and Danganronpa. Neithrer are exclusives.

You're comparing over 13 months of Wii U to 12 months of Vita, so you're actually still unfairly favoring the Wii U with that believe it or not.

13 months of Vita global - Vita Japan of the same month (which is 15 months) + Vita Japan of 13 months = 4.511 million in the same time.

And that's with one less holiday season than the Wii U in Europe, North America, and rest of the world. If you instead cut it to 12 months for both aligned, it's 4 million for Wii U and 4.4 million for Vita, so the Vita is actually ahead aside from Nintendo's great performances every Christmas.
