1m is still the bar for success, and PS3 certaintly hasn't beat 360 on that. 360 has 5 - 6 games missing from the million sellers list becuase of missing EU numbers. PGR3, DOA4, Lego Star Wars and a few others have sold over a million.

The yearly software gap will only increase. This year is actually the first year where PS3 has been ahead of 360. It was often very close before, but now the yearly gap was quite large. I suspect the gap will be 30-40m in 2014 and something similar in 2015. I think it will take around 2 years for it to catch up.


I thought the trend was similar to hardware, which 2013 had the biggest advantage for PS3 since 2008 or 2009.

Any way, I still belive PS3 and 360 sales will fell hard in 2014, 50% and 60% respectively, and SW trends will follow, there won´t be a GTA-V to push PS3 nor any other exclusive...

say 2 ps3 games each sell a million but one 360 game sells 10 million, what's more important?

Without a years head start they have to decide which console is truly worth it. The decision will be harder than you think. Sony is the tortoise and Microsoft was the hare. Overall value to the market, man. Its about overall value.

Ugh (rolls eyes)....even now the year head start excuse is played. Yes I am aware this gen is going to be different. The last gen was a glorious one, gamers chose Xbox over Playstation, at least when you see games purchased/revenue.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

No argument there. Never argued that, hence why  i said "sweet irony". Both are great commercial grounds for third parties. This is undisputed. If they are head to head Sony is stronger, but Microsoft one upped them in price and launch position which helped them win over third party sales overall last gen. Microsoft markets better for their third party than they do anything else so if I was a AAA developer they would be high on my list as well.

Welcome to the little leagues PS3. 1 million is for wimps. 2 million is what should be aspired to :)
