I have seen so many people the last two years act like China is this vast market that they assume Sony will dominate, so i thought this was interesting, that Sony does not even have any plans to enter China:

Title is a bit misleading, it just says they havnt got a plan they can discuss,right now, not that there is not one, I imagine if they have though it's taken a lot of convincing to get to this stage

I suppose they could simplify the console's, no online play as such and no disk drive meaning DL only

There should be a Chinese company that decides to create a console, I would gladly import it and buy games for it, that should help my Chinese.

Plans quickly change if there's plenty easy $ to be made.

Its actually strange one hasn't build yet, at least an orginal one since there are tons of clone consoles already made by Chinese companies. Foxconn, a Chinese company, builds all the consoles anyway so they know how to build one.

Yahh but who the hell would make games for it ? and release them in pirate heaven.... wheres the $$$ in that.

Well developers make games for the PC still and that's a massive priate heaven too, its the whole reason for the cheap steam sales after all. The Chinese  government would have to crack down on pirates for sure, and there are Chinese game developers. Piracy of software is everyone in every country and it doesn't kill the industry if controlled properly. 

Come on you cant compare pirating in China to anywhere else. They rip of cars for fraks sake, want a bmw that is not a bmw yep they got it.

foxconn isnt chinese, well okay, u can argue if taiwan is china or not.

and its no big news that sony dont wanna go to china, the market will be heavy regulated and a bunch of big games will be banned(and the chinese dont like japanese companys) nintendo has the best chances, they make games that are strictly non political. mario is a realy safe game. but they are japanese too, that could be a problem.
